Ozone layer is depleating at a rapid pace. It is important to appreciate that the atmosphere behaves differently from year to year. Even though the same processes that lead to ozone depletion occur every year, the effect they have on the ozone is altered by the meteorology of the atmosphere above Antarctica. This is known as the 'variability' of the atmosphere. This variability leads to changes in the amount of ozone depleted and the dates when the depletion starts and finishes. To illustrate this, the monthly averages for October, from 1980 to 1991, are shown below. Article: http://www.ozonelayer.noaa.gov/

The Global warming will however get serious enough to dry our fresh water supplies out , unfortunately bringing our demise , there is nothing we can do about this unless we use nothing but natural energy sources - The sooner the better

Safe? I dare you to go to Antarctica and expose your skin to the sunlight enought to get a good tan. I would almost bet that you would contract skin cancer within the year. That is how bad it is down there right now.

I agree with you! But USA never choose to apply Kioto protocol...and even if all the world applies Kioto protocol...we can't do anything, because for some scientist we need to lower pollution of 50% to solve problems of our Earth. It's a very big problem! I think ozone layer is going :-(

Im slightly comforted by the fact Humans will die off before the Planet does , also that it will regenerate and give life to many new life forms sfter us , hopefully ones without opposible thumbs

well i am not an expert in this subject but the amount of pollution released everyday should affect the ozone layer.
