Damage therapy, I made a complete fool of myself!

I was in this shopping mall, just trying to find pickles from my part of India. There was a TV blaring in the background and I heard in the passing "......Damage therapy". I turned around and whatever that was, had been replaced by a sitcom. I was stumped! What was that? The only kind of Damage therapy I know is where people are asked to smash things to release their pent-up feelings. Was this about it. I know some people who need this and that too urgently. I hung around like a fool for the next break just to know what it was. It didn't come the next break, so I waited again! I got to see it on the third commercial break. It was a Hair damage therapy commercial for a leading brand. I must have been living under a rock all these days. That I don't watch TV may be 'it' I am now convinced that I am a complete fool. BTW I forgot the pickles!

Avakaya (Mango pickle in gingelly oil with mustard and red chili powder), Pandu Mirapakaya Kharam (Red chili in oil) and Gongura (Hemp leaf pickle) are my favorites. The hotter, the better. Once in a while it is not a big bother.

I eat pickles every single day, even in summers. I dont like to add butteroil in it. I could sit with pickle and rice in front of television and keep eating the whole day. Even the puffed rice with a little bit of salt, chilli powder, coriander leaves chopped fine, and onions and tomatoes ... the bhel combination, but instead of tamarind juice, lime juice. My idea of heavenly food..he he. Not good for health though ... :( Why do we like things we are not supposed to eat? :( I promised myself that if I survive 2012 December, I will leave pickles. I've already stopped eating pastries, and ice creams, my other favorite foods. :)

Complete fool? No. I think sometimes we automatically think that something is a certain way without thinking of the possible options. By doing that we actually close ourselves off from the full extent of a given circumstance. Forgetting the pickles is normal when we don't stay focused and go off thinking about something else instead.

Busy malls drive me crazy! Haven't been for years. People are so illmannered and illbred anymore.

Thank you! I picked up the pickle the next day. It was the hanging around a busy mall focused on a TV that embarrassed me. I must have looked a redneck with all that gawking!

Hi webearn, some of the commercials being aired these days are downright silly, but there are some which are good esp the one for a cement co ( I forget the name, so much for impact !)with Bomman Irani in it .Was the Hair damage therapy so interesting that you forgot all about pickles?

Hiya WBE, A few times I have waited for something in a Program to come out and about nearly three hours later after all the adverts and everything and waiting it turns up and it turned out to be something very silly so I don´t waste my time now either. If I get to see something like that I just record it and skip through all the adverts and then see what it was that is if it is or was ever in the end of the program and very often it´s not even there either. Very often they will put whatever it was on the Next Day but after trying to make you sit it out for the whole of that program too. I stopped doing that now and only record it if I want to and now very often I don´t. Don´t worry I live under a rock sometimes as well but I think I am much better off doing that.
