At times I do switch off my cell phone if I feel I want a better sleep without any disturbance. But in case there is any urgent things going on in my office or in any other reasons I may just keep my cell phone even if I am sleeping. But it is scientifically known that those radiation could harm if cell phone is kept near to the place where one sleep. Anyhow I feel it all depends upon the urgency of call to come.

By the bed a lot of people who like to chat with your loved one or friend through the phone for hours. If you have such a habit should begin now reduced and try to remove. That is because, according to research conducted by a team of researchers from Wayne State University in Detroit, the United States and the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, using a cell phone before bed will reduce the quality of sleep. Headaches, feeling tired after waking and insomnia are the effects of using a mobile phone before bedtime. In general, using a mobile phone before bedtime especially in a long time, will make the quality of sleep decreased. This will result in decreased body condition the following day. The study involved 35 male and 36 female respondents between the ages of 18 to 45 years. The study found, some respondents exposed to radiation from mobile phones. This radiation which reduces the quality of sleep and a negative effect on health. If the habit of using this phone continues to be done, the radiation that more and more attached to the body and can cause long-term effects. The use of mobile phones in fact also affects the specific alterations in the brain that regulate stress-handling system. Not only cause insomnia and fatigue, but also will make more aggressive attitude and quickly become emotional. Radiation from mobile phones can actually be reduced by sleeping soundly. For that many health experts recommend to turn off the phone before bedtime.

Hello Sham, Neither I am switching off my mobile nor keeping the same near to me while sleeping. I am using the mobile for alarm purpose but it kept in the adjacent room and I can hear the voice clearly when the alarm bell rings. Yes, the radiation may be harmful to us and most of us aware about the same. Still people are not caring much as it won’t give immediate side effects. Precaution is always good because the radiation may damage our brain if we keep on talking continuously.

I always shut my phone off while sleeping, as I don't need it on, and I want to get a good nights sleep without my phone ringing and waking me up. I don't get that good of a sleep anyway, so this way I won't be disturbed. Take care and have a very good day.

well, generally speaking, wherever we go, radiation is always there, if you are afraid to be expose of the radiation of the cellphones, then you should be afraid of the radiation given off by TV, Radio, computers, Wifi connections and many more. we can not escape the radiation., around us.,

I hope too, but scientifically, we can minimize it but... we can not stop it. Just imagine how many artificial satellite are revolving in our world, and that satellites also give off radiation...

Hi SHAMRACK, to me I find it's better to switch off the cell phone before going to bed. Firstly there won't be any disturbance made by my cell phone in the middle of the night. We have a cable house phone which its number only our dear and close ones know. They won't call us during our bedtime unless there is emergency call. Secondly to switch off the cell phone while sleeping would save the energy of the battery. So that could help to prolong its lifespan and I don't have to get it charged frequently. hopefully in this way the battery would be more durable Happy posting

Hello shamrack. I used to switch off my cell phone when I slept, but now I leave it on. Even though I don't place it next to my bed, but on my bed-desk. I am so sure that it can still have radiation on me if I place it there. Sometimes I switch it off when I have my days off. I have experienced quite a few times of suffering from headache due to my long call on the cell phone. But I have learned a cleverer way of turning on the speaker. This way I don't have to place it beside my ear while I am on the phone... Take care.

I don't turn it off night and day. I think it's important that it's On at all times because there might be some emergency situations that I have to attend to right away. I just put it in one place, not near me.

Even though I might receive those annoying calls, I still have to turn my cell phone on all the time, in case some urgency might occur, and if I switch it off, I might not get them instantly. So, for the sake of it, I just have to get ready.

Do not turn it off. Just place it farther from you and in silent mode so it will not disturb your sleep. When your phone is near you, you are very exposed to radiation. Well, I heard other people talk about the bad effects of radiation. Do not turn off your phone because something urgent may come up and you won't be able to attend to it.

I personally don't turn off my phone because I don't get that many phone calls at night. I do occasionally get alerts from FB or text messages. But if you are a light sleeper and if it disturbs your rest then I would say definitely shut it off. This is the first time that I am hearing about the radiation thing. Good to know!

My cellphone will be turned off at 11pm automatically. I don't want to be disturbed at night by the rubbish calls or SMS. If it's an urgent call, people know how to reach me directly because they know my own phone number at home. Besides, it will save a little electricity since I turn it off. And there will be less radiation and it seems to be good for the health. I love China

Hi SHAMRCK, I read in a magazine that using cell phones harms us unknowingly and it is better you do not allow to use it to children below eight years. Problems are there but we have reached such a point that without it life seems to be not starting at all. Still precaution is better. I usually keep my mobile in silent mode while I am asleep for I do not like to hear the words "the number you have dialed is currently switched off"

I usually leave my phone turn on during sleeping time. And yes, it is right that radiation produced by cellphone is harmful. Even texting everyday affects our system. I leave my phone on top of the cabinet near my feet. Though I wanted to put it on silent mode, I can't. Because my friends and colleagues used to call me when they needed help and so I can't afford to see in the morning, my friend called me,an emergency or something and I wasn't able to response.

you can buy anti-radiation stickers or surfaces to cover up most of the radiation. you can search up www.dealextreme.com for some budget ones or ebay or amazon. if not, you can go to the nearest shopping mall to search though it may be very difficult. radiation harms our brain and kills the cells inside. it is important to know that it is better to keep the cell phone as far away as possible even with the anti-radiation stickers as the stickers only block a certain percentage depending on how much you spend on them.

That is better one, but they could block only certain percentage.
