I am still here in my daughter’s home, schools and colleges are closed for ‘Christmas vacation’ from 23rd to 3rd January. Banks, offices are closed on 25th, 26th is Sunday. My grandson, he is in high school, and granddaughter, she reads in an Engineering college, proposed to celebrate X’ mas our way as we are Hindu. We hired a taxi-car and visited 4 temples in this city and villages on way to another city. We offered banana and broke coconut in the temples. In this city we visited an old classmate of mine, he is Christian. We all enjoyed dinner there in his home, we gave banana and coconut offered to our gods, goddesses to this friend and his family members. We felt so good. We are back in our daughter’s home just now, tomorrow morning we will be going back to our home. Are our schools, colleges, offices closed for Christmas, for how many days? How you celebrate this? Please share. MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEWYEAR Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

Everyone is welcome to join in Christmas celebration. In Malaysia we open our houses to share with other races and beliefs in celebrating Christmas. I see that you are also having a great time celebrating Christmas with your christian friend.

For our schools here in this area, the official winter break was supposed to be from the 20th of December until the 2nd of January. However, the kids ended up getting a couple of extra days because we had a snowstorm on the 15th of December that closed school on the 16th and 17th. As far as offices and such go, this year with the holiday falling on a Saturday, everything is closed on the Eve of the holidays, meaning my husband was off work on Christmas Eve and will also be off work on New Year's Eve.

Well here in the Philippines, Christmas holidays meant for students of all level, a two-week vacation from school. My husband's off lasted only for three days and he'll be back working today. Christmas holidays is a great deal for us Filipinos because most of us are Christians, particularly Roman Catholics.

I have relatives from Denmark abd Germany, who celebrate Christmas on the 24th, so that is what we did last night. We had roast pork for dinner with red cabbage, gravy, and German potatoes. I called my favourite bakery, and they made a Black Firest caje. Mmmm, yummy. We exchanged gifts, and just sat around talking all night. It was wonderful! Now it's 5:00 AM, and we are getting ready to take tge bus to Toronto, and spend three days at our favourite hotel, for a mini vacation.

It's wonderful that your stores/businesses close for the holidays. The kids were out of school on the 22nd, and return on the 3rd. During that time. some stores closed at 6pm on the 24th, and remain closed on the 25th. Other stores have shortened their hours, but remain open during the holiday season. I wish all the stores would close on the 25th. The majority of gas stations remain open too.

hi professor, last night, christmas eve, i was at my mom's place. there was a reunion of all siblings and then midnight, everyone gathered by the christmas tree and all at the same time opened their presents. mom has given me a curtain and a mug. the next day, christmas day, i was online at 8:30am and i was doing mylot but was invited for lunch so i had to stop around 11:00am and had to go to my daughter's in laws. there i received another present and i had too much calorie intake. i enjoyed the fruit salad in cream, a lot. went to church at 4pm and then did a little walk.. home at 7pm and then back to mylot. office will open on tuesday, december 28 as it is still a declared holiday on the 27th. have a very nice day. bless you. ann
