A Christmas present worth remembering.

Canada
December 25, 2010 3:19pm CST
This morning I got up before everyone else, and waited for them to get up. My roommate gets on the computer to show me something, and I was quite shocked to see what he showed me. My husband got up and my roommate showed him as well. Then he said that there was a present on the tree for us. We hunted for it, and after we found it and I read it, I almost fell on the ground. Well, to keep a long story short, he is giving us $1,000 cash next week. Part of it goes for rent, and the rest is for us to use on our own for whatever we want. I can't wait because this means that we'll be set for January and wont have to worry about rent for this month.

Wow, that is really generous. I could use that sum of money as well. That would cover our mortgage, taxes and insurance for this month, which would as well, make me not have to worry for next month. Just taking that added stress off would be a god send. The constant worry has started to raise my blood pressure. not to a high level, but high for me.

I know the feeling, I've been constantly stressing out for months, so this does help for a while.

Aww I am so glad you will have an easier month knowing you will have money to pay your bills. I would actually myself rather give money than go out tramping around for gifts that no one actually will use or need. We did not really buy gifts for each other this year I bought a Wii so my hubby and I can play a few games together and then have it for Netflix. I love being able to watch movies over hour sitcoms so I am looking forward to hooking up the wii to the netflix Again love to hear you were blessed with the help you would need!

I bought myself a Wii last year and I've been loving it. This year, I got money from our uncle and I bought a balance board. My husband says to buy games with some of this money, but I'd rather hold on to it.

What an awesome gift!!! I love it when things like that come together for people. It's so nice, when our wishes come true. My three Aunts all sent me gift cards from the coffee shop I visit daily, and this is nice, because I can indulge my mocha latte habit, and it won't cost me a thing all month! :)

We needed a roommate to help cover expenses so we rented out a spare room in our house.

Roommate sounds so much homier and friendlier that "boarder" or renter. I am glad you have a good one. Those can be hard to come by.

Oh wow! That is a really great gift! I would be extremely excited about it, if only the money was there to begin with though. I got something totally awesome today as well! I got a spongebob camera! But the sucky thing about it is that I can't use it. My computer doesn't have a CD drive to install the software for the camera. Low and behold all I have now is a camera. Oh well, I still love this thing! I wish you the best of the holidays and spend the money well!

Wow what an amazing gift. That is a huge amount of money for someone to give you as a gift. I would have a really hard time accepting money of that amount. My ex drew a picture of my son for me. That would probably be the most memorable present I got. It is up on my dresser in my room. He actually gave it to me the night before Christmas at his families Christmas eve party.

Hi Kris, What a great surprise for the holidays!! Your room mate is a very generous person! I don't know what I'd do if someone gave me that amount of money...I'd be so shocked. I'm a little confused though. How does what he showed you on the computer tie into this. I read your story like 3 times and I feel really stupid but how did you find this on the computer?
