Online Beginner Mistakes-Making Money online

Most people say that newbies to the online money making opportunities spread themselves too thin by getting involved with too many programs and/or sites. I think this may be because of the multitude of possibilities that are available on the web. Many people are just finding their way including me. I know that I am reassessing and dropping some programs that have too high payouts or are just too involved in areas where I am not interested. What about you? How have you planned and executed your online money making plans?

I am still a beginner and I will say that I will take your advise. I have joined many programs and i am not able to give the time to everyone. I can work here for many years but there are other sites which make me feel bored. I think it is the time to refine my search and get into the track with the right websites. You are right that it is because of the number of the opportunities now on internet that one can join a number of programs but will not be able to handle all of them. All programs are not legit also, there are a few where one can earn. So it is better to focus on few and do some hard work.

I feel the need to experiment and re-evaluate. I do not want to get bogged down or doing something that I truly hate. I am interested in creating on-line work that I love that will both make money and sustain my interest. I am also interested in making a difference in people's lives, giving other true opportunities and helping them also to succeed.

I think that you really hit the nail on the head. Involved with more programs than you can handle at any given time, which of course leads to a lot of frustration and some trauma to say the very least. I think that over time, once we know the game, we tend to get a bit more selective. However, when we begin, I think that we get excited and go insane signing up for everything until we come to our senses.

Yes, I agree. There are so many different possibilities and directions to explore. When you really start to understand how different areas work, then I think you become more selective about what you like and which are true earners.

The best ways was trough our own site or programs, we can build a site or promote reseller rights. We can make a redirect page from our site to that site.

I just use free service who give subdomain for me to make a site. We make money from free service, so we didn't need to think about renewal each month. I usually promote reseller rights, cause the payment will straight to my Paypal or Alertpay.

Yes, I know many people take this route. Do you have your own site? What kinds of products do you promote?

I started a survey site about 2 1/2 months ago. I am a marine wife, and I got a referal link from another marine wife. I have been paid $150 so far and I really like it. When I first started it, I found a bunch of other survey sites and I also made a seperate email account so that I could organize all the survey sites. I sort of weeded through them and picked the ones that were worth the time and effort. Some I only do the paid emails and others I do everything on. I went through quite a few and I am not burned out. I think it is probably because I organized everything so that it wouldn't be overwhelming. So I would suggest creating a seperate email specifically for making money online and create folders for each website you join. If you decide to "opt out" of any of them, all you have to do is delete the folder that you created for that site. I can't believe how many people haven't heard of Vindale Research. I have gone through a lot of survey sites and this one pays the most for product reviews (offers) and paid emails. Some survey sites have the same offers as Vindale and Vindale always pays more than the others. Also other sites pay anywhere from 2 to 3 cents per paid emails, Vindale pays 10cents. They pay $5 for each referal which is pretty sweet also. They also have 10 new surveys every day. Not everyone qualifies for them, but you just do the ones you qualify for and those are each $1.50. All this good stuff and hardly anyone knows about it! What a waste. Any way so check out Vindale research people. If you want to be nice to me and use my referal link that would be cool but, it's cool if you are too excited to go through the time to get the referal link from me lol. I really like Vindale and hope it helps anyone who signs up. It helped me.

What a great and informative post! I think I was a member of Vindale in the past. I was mainly looking at them for surveys and I found other sites that pay more for surveys. I also use a criteria which I will be sharing here later. Basically, I complete surveys for the most money and least amount of time and I found a few other sites that were better or more consistent with that than Vindale. I have to admit that I have not visited them in a while so based on your commentary, I will take another look. I usually shy away from offers, just not something I'm interested in. Not sure if you are already involved in sidetick, if not, that is another great site to get involved in, similar to MyLot, a social site, with lots of great people. Your organization tips are great. I have a few emails that helps me to keep organized and always planned to used folders but I guess, life got too busy.....lol

Thanks, I'll send you the link for sidetick and I am also a big fan of win-win situations. Trying to stay positive, so I leave the checking of mean-ness to you....lol.

Why thank you! I did join this place to make money, but I find that I realy enjoy the topics and I love debating. I also like showing rude people how unintelligent they are. I did that today and it felt great. Someone was picking on another mylotter and being down right mean! I could not stand for that! Any way, I enjoy helping people too. It's not all about the money. I'm a big fan of win win situations. :) I will have to check the "sidetick" website out. Thanks for that too. If you have a referal link for that one, please send it to me so that you get credit. Have a great day!

I think that we get spread too thin, like you say.I think persistence on whatever sites you choose will help you have success. I am going to work harder in this next year and try to do more earning by better follow through.

I think my criteria will include both payout and pleasure. How much joy am I having on a site and is it worth my valuable time to stay there.....

When I first started trying to make money online I joined every progam I could find and got burned out. But I also learned a lot about the programs and what I did and didnt like about them. I found out what I could or couldnt do with the time I have. I got to the point that I quit all of them to get a break from it all. Now I am just getting back into it all and I will be a lot more selective.

I think many of us learn this way, the hard way but we all learn an awful lot.

When I was just starting with many of the online earning sites, I had a mentality of not wanting to invest until I made 2x the investment from that site. I only started with 3 sites, and expanded from there. Now I find myself with too many sites, and the newest additions really don't pay very much, take a lot of work and are questionable (as far as being legitimate)so I don't want to promote the site for referrals until I'm sure they are legitimate. Looking in hindsight, if I had a chance to start all over, I would have listened to what more experienced members shared with me about the "elite" sites on the internet. These "elite" sites will be my main focus in 2011, and I'll begin to stop with many of the other sites - those with low pay, take too much time each day, sites with questionable legitimacy, etc. In 2011, my focus will be to upgrade in the elite sites, promote as often as I can, and work "my plan" for these sites so I can increase my earnings.

Focusing is key. Although I have weaned a few sites, I will be dropping some others to focus on the true payers and the ones that bring me joy or one that helps me to learn something new (adds value).

I have never gotten involved in doing that. Mylot is the only site i use that pays money. That is not why i enjoy it so much, i love the friendships i have made on here.

I think there definitely has to be a passion or fun factor. I also like to be on a site where I can learn so clearly Mylot fulfills that and the social factor. I have another social site that I frequent also that I love for the above two reasons called sidetick. I think I forgot to include it in my profile, I'll put some info up about it now. The only think about it is that it is not a total international site like this one (only 6 approved countries: US, UK, AU, NZ, IS, CA).

I think you're right. I have often thought about this myself. When I just began, I was amazed at how many different programs and websites there were online, so I just joined all of them, despite some websites' apparent sketchiness. But later on, I realized some were better than others, and some had ridiculous minimum payouts, while others didn't pay enough. I just kept a handful of good websites, like triond, helium, associated content, and mylot. I'm typically not much of a planner.

I agree with many of your sentiments! Once you learn better, you do better and many of those lesser sites fall away!

Right now, not yet. But im clearly directing to that point that I will be establishing my own e-business. im with 3 programs now and I think that is enough.

I find myself reassessing each week. I am one who does not sign up to anything even if other members insist. I like to research thoroughly before I sign up. After signing up I review a sit in it's entirety before I begin any form of earning. Then I mentally map out a plan as to how long it will take me to earn ex amount in a week, at which point I may continue and or not. I know exactly when to give up on a site as I do not like to waste too much time when I could be doing something else in less time for the same and or perhaps more money. I do not have it down pat yet but I have a good plan in my strategies.

You definitely have a strategy, a working plan of action. I, too like to research and get to know a site. Often I find if it is too complicated, it is not something that will be promotable. I also like to find out the workings of a site myself because the better I can explain it, the more I will be able to help others work and understand the site or program.

since I am not basing my whole future on what i make online, I do what is fun and what i have time for. I have 20 sites that I check regularly, but am more active on some than on others. The little pay outs for the immediate gratification, keep me going for the larger pay out sites.

I think most people have joined many sites but are only active on those that provide the most pleasure and payout. MyLot is fun because of the diversity of discussions; there's always something to discuss or comment on or learn.
