It's both. The script is written and pre-planned. When the wrestlers get out there and wrestle they need to go with what happens - if you miss a move or get hurt. Of course that makes the WWE script writers have to rewrite the script a lot. Injuries happen and they need to accomodate for that.

Well, about wrestling in general I've always believed it was pre-planned, when it became televised in a big way. It just got worse and worse, for entertainment hype that is. But I have to admit that the blood looks pretty real.
