What do these seemingly opposites all have in common? These every day situations are all relevant. In other words they do not represent a truth, just a situation that is not lasting, and may not be true even thought in many instances they are taken as the truth. Up and down existed until the astronauts went to the moon. In and out depends on where you are situated! Right and wrong is neither cut nor dried! Whats right for me can, (and usually will) be wrong for you. Long and short depends on which straw the other guy drew. And of course once you are over, its the same distance back! If you're wondering where this discussion is going, its about right and wrong. The problem being that most people believe right and wrong to be two opposites, which cannot be changed, and are cut in stone. I'm here to say that right and wrong is no more cut and dried than is up and down! Have your wrongs ever turned out to be right?

Hi barehugs, I agree that one person's right is another's wrong but for some reason many people just can't get there head around this. Up and down for us only refers to the earth. In actual fact right and wrong don't exist, it is only a matter of opinion. A good example is that most people believe that murder is wrong, yet many agree with capital punishment which is plain and simple murder by the state, and no different from any other kind of murder. Blessings.

I appreciate your thoughtful response! This Post may be confusing to some, but its a direction of thought I often follow. People love to draw a line in the sand, when there is no real need to get excited. Imagine the feelings when the Astronauts were first able to see for themselves, that 'up and down,' were just figments of our earthly imaginations!

No, not usually my wrongs are still and infinitely wrong.. but I have learned to look at the lighter side of things and learn from them so I do not repeat the same wrongful decisions. Where as my rights at times have been wrongs later also, so once again learning lessons for me. Don't get me wrong I have had times when rights, remained rights as I was merely expressing the positive ways I see things.

Thanks for your response! While I was reading it I was reminded of," Up the down staircase!" Its quite an effort to run up the down escalator, But people do it more than you would think.
