Which are popular countries to go to from your home country? A person that lives in Italy has many other European countries nearby like Switzerland, Austria, Croatia and Malta. Some people that live in the United States like to visit the Caribbean Islands. From my home country people like to go to Spain, France and Greece. Budget airlines mean that the whole of Europe is on offer. Charter flights go to Goa in India, some of the Caribbean Islands like the Dominican Republic, the Maldives and Cancun in Mexico.

At one time in the UK Spain was the most popular choice, but reduced air prices have made many places economically possible to visit. While European destinations are still very popular here more and more people are visiting the USA

Airlines like Easy Jet and Ryan Air have destinations that would have been pricey to reach. I went on Ryan Air to Riga in Latvia. I got a charter flight to Bourgas in Bulgaria and that was a cheap way to reach Romania. The USA has many different choices like Florida is popular with families. I have been to California three times and Hawaii once. My sister's mother-in-law told me the plane journey from Bristol to New York has been discontinued so that is a shame. Happy New Year.

I visited the Baltic Countries to go off exploring and see lovely places. I managed to see some of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. It is a shame that the travelers on the Riga to UK flights are off to look for work. Yes, it would be really great if they were going for enjoyment.

The people from my country still choose the United Kingdom and Ireland the most often. Unfortunately, not to take a rest or visit these countries as tourists, but to look for a job there. So the flights of the Ryanair to London, Bristol, Liverpool and Dublin are usually overloaded with the travelers. I think it would be better if we could go to these countries just for fun and to gain new impressions, not for such practical reasons, but it seems that in the nearest future these things won't change.

Hi maximax, The popular countries that we can easily visit is China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore etc. But these tours are not like that is in Europe for the countries there are closely attached to each other like Germany has 12 nations on its international boundaries.

HongKong, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand are most popular destination for Filipinos because we don't need a visa to go there. Not to mention the promotions that budget airline CebuPacific offers for travel in these countries.

Hi there Krajibg. Yes, I can see these countries are a plane ride away and I like the way you have mentioned Germany. I have traveled to Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia and that was on my trip around the world. Bali seems to be the most popular place in Indonesia and I went to Sumatra. Happy New Year.

Hi Maxine and a Happy New Year! It is easier to go to a neighborging country as usually trip is cheaper. As my country is so long and thin, it is less expensive sometimes to visit Argentina than to travel in my own country. We chileans go a lot to Argentina, PerĂº, Bolivia and Brasil. Some families with children go at least one in their lives to Disneyworld. Other people like the sun of the Caribbesan and it is an added plus that in most places they speak Spanish.

Hi my friend Marguicha I wish you Happy New Year. I think that it is a long way for someone that lives half way down Chile to go up to the north or right down to the south. I can see why Argentina is a popular place to go that is fairly nearby. Peru must be a very interesting country to visit. The Caribbean has lots of islands to choose from. I think Central America is also a great place for a Chilean person to go. Hugs.

Although Indonesia is very far away from my home country I was able to visit it on my trip around the world when I was 20 to 21 years old. For a person that lives there I think Singapore or the Philippines would be very possible travel destinations.

Hello maximax, I really wonder as to how many counters you have covered so far? Your traveling hobby reminds me of the novel "Around the world in eighty days". Keep it up and when you publish a travelogue please sens me one copy of that. HAVE A GREAT GREAT NEW YEAR.

In my country, the nearest places to visit are Hongkong, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan. But distance is not a problem for my people. A wandering type, one can find us everywhere around the globe

Distance is not a problem for me. On a long haul trip as long as UK to Australia or New Zealand I take stopovers that turn into a really great adventure. I have been on a plane from London to Hong Kong and it took 14 hours. It was the same as Singapore to London that I have done a couple of times. Indonesia is a cheap destination which has some wonderful sights.

Hi maximax8! Happy New Year! For me, I am living in the Philippines. So I can suggest you can go to Hongkong for shopping or Macau for casino. You can go to Singapore for some relaxation and Thailand for some shopping and island adventures. You can go to Kuala Lumpur for sight seeing and Kota Kinabalu for nature tripping in Malaysia. You can also go to Taiwan for their hot springs and Taipei 101. If you want some more island fun, go to Palau.

I live in the U.S. and you're right, the Caribbean is very popular, especially along the Mexican coast. Where I live, in California, people like to go to Cabo San Lucas, too. But, a lot of people visit Europe, especially France, England and Scotland.

I live in Hawaii so I think a lot of people come here to vacation or go on holiday. If you live in the USA (mainland) then you probably will go to Florida or California because the weather is nice. Its always nice here in Hawaii and I see a lot of different cultures here from Japan, China, Russia, Germany, and Canada.

Well, most Aussies go to either Bali or New Zealand as they are close and conveniently priced for us. Some others go to Thailand or Malaysia. I just had to be different and went right around the world, missing these countries that are close and popular. We will hopefully get to Bali in the next year if we can save the money. We nearly went last year, but prices jumped by the time we got around to booking, so we went camping instead. Flights here are probably the most expensive of anywhere in the world as we have very little competition.

In the Philippines, the usual countries that Filipinos go to are Hong Kong and Macau. Other than that, Singapore and Malaysia are also on the list. I am actually planning to go to Malaysia this year at around summer. Filipinos have a a hard time going to Europe and other western countries because of the VISA Restrictions which is why ASEAN countries are on the top of a Filipino's Travel List.

New Zealand is by far the most popular international destination from Australia. It is environmentally unique, but has many similarities with us, like political stability, similar sort of currency, similar people, similar diseases, similar shops, similar processes & procedures. Good point about airline competition. Personally, I'd like to go back to Zeppelins!
