Abandoned Babies

I have seen this in the news for a few weeks where they feautured new born babies abandoned by parents in parks or somewhere else. I feel alarmed and disgusted with this piece of information where a government hospital here in the Philippines said that they get at least one abandoned infant in a week. What is wrong with these people? Why get pregnant in the first place? Why subject an innocent child to misery when the parents cannot provide the basic needs which is food, clothing and shelter?
Then, our dear Catholic Church is pressuring our government against the Reproductive Health Bill from passing because it is immoral. Nothing is more immoral than leaving an infant in a park. Nothing is more immoral than subjecting a child to hunger, poverty and abuse. Nothing is more immoral than producing and producing children who become drug addicts or crooks.
I wish that people will think first before they get pregnant. A lot of people are wishing for children of their own and yet cannot because of medical reasons. Then there are these irresponsible parents who will just abandon their children. The sad and comical part of this is, for sure that mother who abandoned her baby is probably pregnant again in the next few weeks. Just ranting people. Happy New Year!

I read your article I find it sad no I find it worse then that people who do that should be shot. These babies haven't done nothing wrong they don't deserve that at all. There's these stories they don't talk about how some people put a baby in the garbage. I have a baby she's almost 10 months now she was a pleasant surprise we'd never give her up or do anything like that it kills me that people do that there's some that. There's kids in foster care and in the system because of people like that. I hope some how they try to fix this problem, take care

It is really heartbreaking to know that some people can afford to abandon their babies. I'm currently pregnant and I must say that this whole process of pregnancy is the best thing that ever happened to me. My baby is a gift and I won't do or won't let anything harm him / her. I don't know why other mothers can just leave the babies that they have carried on their bellies for nine months.

I wish i could adopt one of the babies being abandoned by irresponsible moms. i believe in karma, i hope it will get them soon. they deserve to be punished for abandoning their babies. they could have given away to DSWD or to their relatives. I just dont get it, why they have to abandoned and put the life of a precious baby at risk.

Unfortunately this kind of act was already common in every part of the world. To me, it is very very very wrong and it must not be done whatever the reason is. Babies are God's greatest gift. Having a baby is a great privilege and must be proud of it, someone that we can raise on our own to become our successor. Many couples were trying to conceive babies but not successful but yet someone who has finally given birth to a child has decided to abandon their child due to a unforseen reason. This is a great sin, abusing what God has given. I just do not understand why these babies were abandoned. It could because parent had no money to raise a baby, knowing it would cost them a lot. I think that they just can't conclude quickly like that because they had to think something in order to get their babies survive and that's their first priority. I just simply hate any mother who decided to abandon her baby. If she does not want to raise the baby then don't even think of having baby.

That has been a very big issue here in the Philippines. I think, the real problem is on the individual itself. We have to deal with the cause of abortion and abandoning a baby. The issue is never ending and a battle between the moralist and the government does not cease.
As for myself, I want a baby, but I know it is not about time to have one because I am not prepared. I must say that I have engaged with the act, but I believe that I have to face whatever the consequence of my action. I have not gone through abortion.
The question now is, do other people think the same as mine? No...I think, that is something we have to handle. Every individual has his own thinking about responsibility and facing the consequence of their actions.

In America and in Canada, if a mother cannot care for an infant and if she is so ashamed of having an illegitimate child, she can leave the baby at a hospital or at a convent, firehall, medical centre, and that should be available in your country. One does not need to abort the child. We also have crisis pregnancy centres where clothes, cribs, diapers, etc., are donated and in some cases the mother and child can stay there until they have somewhere to stay or the baby can be adopted.
Also adoption should not be thought as a bad time. Years ago, people who could not have children were given a pat on the back when they adopted, now they are practically called the ones who stole the baby.

hello anne,
This news is all over the globe,i mean happening in every part of the world.
It is because people are just considering their own lust,feeling and their self.
People involved in a relationship,having intimate moments and get pregnant without thinking about the risks.
People are not afraid to do things,but afraid of the results after.
And the worst thing is,innocent babies suffers the most.
I don't agree with abortion,but what's cruel than abortion and giving birth to a human,and leaving in the midst of nowhere?
Animals devouring innocent babies that are being left in the park,or trash bins.
To h*ll with those girls who doesn't have the heart to do that.
Okay,let's give applause to those who gave birth and leave their babies at the hospital or in an orphanages...it is lesser evil.
You are right,why people do things and let the innocent babies suffer the outcome?
What kind of human are they?..or are they considered human...such an animalistic behavior.
One thing for sure is,those people are afraid of responsibilities and afraid for gossips (unwed mothers) or afraid of their family and relatives or the community.
But,,...they are not afraid of GOD.

Yes, this news is quite sad. I can't believe how irresponsible parents are these days. If it is not abortion, they abandon their children. 
There are still some cases of fetuses being thrown in garbage bins like trash. People should value life more. And if you think that you can't take care of a baby don't make one.. It's really sad for a child to be abandoned and grow up without parents..

Good Day Anne...
It is saddening to hear that a lot of inconsiderate people (most of them are teenagers who actually know better yet give in to temptation) just throw away what God has given to them. A lot of people would say a lot of this and that about Reproductive health, but the truth is that they have none even of the faintest idea regarding the issue.
But that's life now since the end of the 20th century. Many people get stupider and humanity is going down with the dogs. The Catholic Church is like a survivor being surrounded by mindless infected zombies...
