First century in the year 2011 by a batsman at the international stage, Sachin:)

I think this is the fourth straight year when he has scored a century in his first innings of the year. When you start the year so well, the rest of the year definitely goes smooth :). He is simply getting better every year and bowlers really must be dreading him. Compare with Ponting who once was touted as his competitor for the maximum number of hundreds and now we are probably looking at a retired Ponting and Sachin is still going strong. Almost every one in the Indian team grew up with Sachin as an idol and the master is still going strong!! Hats off!! Cheers! Ram

Hi their Yes it was great performance by him. Specially on South African bouncy pitches. Well it is very hard to bat on such pitches but he is really going well in this series. Still everybody are bragging that he is playing for his centuries.. But why they don't think that all this centuries are leading India to good position.

With the way Steyn has been ripping the new ball, its a testament to his ability that Sachin has scored the century. Where it concerns the world cup, India are certainly amongst the fore-runners for the trophy, as are (it pains me to say this) England. Australia are beyond just a simple dip in form, and yet somehow they still manage to bring their game to the big stage. South Africa still need to get that choker off their necks if they want to win. Apart from the opposition, India have another major obstacle standing in their way: the fact that no home team has ever won the World Cup

After having his best year ( runs scored) last year, Sachin has begun 2011 on bright note. This cannot be luck, He deserves all these unique distinctions. This is a fighting century against the world's best fast bowler. The century should give sachin a lot of satisfaction. In the 91st over, he refused a single & kept harbhajan away from steyn. This should tell the kind of positive mindset he is in now. great going sachin !

Hi Ajay, Hats off to Sachin. That his 51st century would follow so quickly was not expected. Now once again he seems to get into his runs and he would continue this form till his retirement.

Sir Sachin is treated as the God of Cricket. I think he is a very good man in real life too, he is a good friend, good parent and a good human being. I am glad to know that he is the opener for scoring the century in this new year. I think he will keep entertaining the people like this throughout this year. I wish him good luck for the World Cup.
