Do you believe it or do you think the cats owner just wants to get in the paper and try and get a bit of money?Story: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061117/od_uk_nm/oukoe_uk_brazil_dogcats_1

I think that, as suggested, the cat has taken on some abandoned pups. I notice that she 'gave birth in a nearby field', so it's unlikely that anyone actually witnessed the birth! As the old saying goes, "There's an awful lot of coffee in Brazil"!

Yes, I believe this as much as I believe politicians.

I don't think it can be true. For one thing they are two completely different species and it's very unlikely that they would interbreed. Scientist have had no success in trying to mate any type of canine with any type of feline and they've been trying for years.

I agree with previous answers. It's either a complete hoax from the owner or it was that she "adopted" puppies. Even if a cat did breed with a dog, it wouldn't have healthy puppies, well, they wouldn't even look just like one or the other. So it's obviously not happened naturally.

I also don't understand how it is possible. Like a cat and a dog would ever be "attracted". That saying "fighting like cats and dogs" exists for a reason. LOL It's also weird that the pups don't look at all like the cat - don't you think? That is pretty weird though!!

Until more evidences can be solicited, I find it hard to believe.

The only way this might happen is if the puppies were deliberately implanted as embryos in the cat's uterus. No way can she have given birth to them in any other way. I think this is just an attention grabbing headline.
