There many people who suffering from obesity. Some times we can see due to thyroid problem many people become fatty and some times obesity is seen due to excessive eating of food. I think we should always control our obesity because due to obesity many disease come forward. In case of women obesity create obstacle for their pregnancy. I think excessive fatty men and women had to face many trouble for their day to day life. Obesity people could not able to do many works such as they could not walk properly, they could not run etc. In case of summer season in our country obesity people feel very much irritation.

I was watching Dr Oz and reading one of his articles and there are chemicals added to food that cause and contribute to obesity. It is not so much in Canada, but a lot in the STates. Too many obese people there to contribute that just to everyone pigging out. Part of what is added is sugar and that turns into fat. I have seen a few people waddle in and out - I guess you mean morbidly obese. They do have to get help, go to a doctor, and get on a low sugar diet. And especially when there is a history of diabetes. If type two diabetes is inherited, you do not need to get extremely fat to get it, you may only have to be 50 lbs or so overweight and you may get it at a younger age. I am fighting every day trying to keep my metabolic syndrome from going over to diabetes and I have a sweet tooth. But I am not going to get very fat.

Well keep on fighting because with metabolic syndrome you shouldn't just be worried about diabetes! You have a whole constellation of other problems all set to attack you like hyperlipidemia, athersclerosis, coronary artery problems etc. So keep up the fight!

Do not have to worry about those things. For some weird reason, I have regular blood pressure and low chloresteral. I have no idea what those mean. Never took up nursing. Would have but I was not good at math or science and besides I would have to look up a dictionary to find out what those words mean. And perhaps go to a doctor. I am trying the natural way and it is working.

I am sorry! I should have elaborated! If your cholesterol is low then your not at risk of hyperlipidemia as cholesterol is a lipid and hyperlipidemia means raised circulating lipids. Also your risk of atherosclerosis is decreased since it atheromas which are clots of lipids blocking a blood vessel, consist of cholesterol. Coronary artery disease refers to blockage of blood vessels which supply the heart muscle and again it is related to your circulating lipid level so your at a lower risk for that too! I am sorry i thought perhaps you would be familiar with the terms since you used metabolic syndrome! I am glad the natural way is working for you!!

Its really sad to see people who are obese. I see them using motorized wheelchairs in wal-mart and places like that because they are so heavy they cannot walk very well when that is in fact what they need to do is walk. Its hard to lose weight if they cant do anything about it from being so heavy they are in pain all the time. I have a cousin who had the gastric bypass surgery and a friend as well. The friend couldnt get pregnant until she had the surgery then she was finally able to conceive.

I know a woman who had a gastric band fitted. She has lost no discernable weight and seems to think that the band's purpose is to limit her intake of chocolate and candy!

One thing many people do not realize is that if you gain a lot of weight over the course of a year, but your eating habits and lifestyle did not change it may be a sign of sleep apnea. In sleep apnea, the body repeatedly stops breathing during the night and the person startles awake. My husband was just diagnosed and I am having a sleep study because I too have the disorder. I need to have a sleep study done in a hospital setting to determine what air pressure would be good for me to keep my airways open at night. Why people gain so much weight from this is because the body metabolism slows down. Obesity is not always caused by overeating so if in question see your doctor.

obesity as has many different causes and there are some which can easily be cured. I would recommend that every obese person get a checkup form a good doctor so that the cause can be delineated and treated. For example some people are obese due to thyroid problems while others have PCOS etc so its better if the get their reason identified and then appropriate management can be started! Bariatric surgery is another good option of loosing weight but then its for the doctor to decide whether the surgery is going to produce the desired results or not! So instead of lamenting book yourself an appointment and get on the road to weight loss!!
