I think it's pretty much obvious that it's not only guys who are enjoying video games these days, and I'm not talking about girls playing casual games here and there. I'm talking about girls who are into Halo, COD, MMORPGs and RPGs as much as guys do. What is your opinion on this? Especially the guys, how do you view the female gaming population?

I really think as time goes, the arena of gaming is just not alone for guys. Girl gamers, many dnt even kno tat there are girl gamers, leave alone RPG gamers. In my opinion, a girl gamer is no less than a male gamer, and i stand by that strongly.there are many girls whom i know, who are into RPG gaming, but 90% of them dont even participate in tournaments and competitions. So all i ask is that more girls should take part in competions, for the benefit of you girls as well as for us!!!!

I'd love to join those competitions sometimes, but it's rather hard to find team mates who you can work with happily. I used to want to join the Ragnarok World Championships, but yeah, it's hard to form a steady guild these days. I'm glad to see you think of male and female gamers as equal though!

Ya ur right. It is hard for girl gamers to find other girl gamers as most will be closet gamers as you said and even if they are popular, their parents wont let them join competitions for 'males'....Anyways i hope that situation changes quickly and we see more girl gamers out.

To tell you the truth, I am always amazed whenever I see a girl gamer . Yeah for sure there is a population increasing for them nowadays , but still quite uncommon for me . Girl gamers always tend to catch my attention when for example I saw some girl playing RPGs/Warcraft in nearby computer rental shops . And I always find it funny whenever a girl beat a boy badly in a computer game haha . But no offense to them , I am not looking down on their skills or whatever , I still believe games like these are made for the enjoyment of everyone else.

Thanks for thinking so! Yes, games should be for the enjoyment of everyone, whichever gender and age. Thanks for your feedback!

Girl gamers are cool in my opinion. It's rare to find girls who play MMORPG games or PS2 games or whatever other games that are not usually played by girls. My ex and I usually had this occasional fight due to me being addicted to video games. She hated video games a lot. If I was to have a girlfriend who appreciates them that would be another thorn pulled off my neck. We also could play together or against each other. My life would be a lot easier.

I agree on that, though the number of hardcore girl gamers I know may surprise you. There are actually a lot of them out there, though a big percentage of them are closet gamers.

I think girl gamers is the coolest there is. i think there not a lot them around since they are introduced only to video gaming quite recently and most games have been catered for the mostly the male community, just like when i was playing mario on the nintendo my sister was playing with her dolls and tea sets but now she totally owns me in dota lol. to think that i was the one who thought her to use shortcuts and hotkeys lol. then lazette, i believe your one of the few yet growing population of girl gamers, you rock

Wow, your sister's awesome! I know a friend of mine (a girl) who's better than the guys at her school when it comes to L4D and DOTA. And thanks a lot!

Hello lazette! Games are really intended for people who likes to play, whether you are a boy or a girl. I have 2 friends that is a girl, who plays DOTA-a map from the famous Warcraft game. I enjoy watching them as they play the game because it's not common to girls to get involve in gaming world. It adds to their appeal as a girl because boys love girls that do what most guys do.

My best friend and I play DOTA too, though she's way better than I'll ever be. It's, I think, nice in the perspective of the guy, but in the perspective of girls who aren't into games, sometimes female gamers are seen differently, like, finding a way to get close to the guys, when in fact we're just doing what we love to do. I for one, CAN'T live without games.

I love female gamers like this! I see a lot of hate based towards them because honestly most kids in Generation Z (1990's and up) are still teenagers, or not there yet and have been corrupted a lot by their own ages. I swear that every time I get onto any game with multiplayer communication, i.e. mics on XBL or just plain chat like in WoW, I frequently see hate towards the female of our species :P. I even see this is Generation Y adults, who are maybe in college or fresh out and still haven't hit that maturity mark yet. Both Generations Y and Z have regarded that females don't really exist on the internet so when they actually come across "OMG SRS R U A GIRL?!?!" they 1) FREAK OUT then 2) PROCEED WITH THE SEXISM! A lot of immaturity comes across due to the mentality that females are inferior to males, but honestly I have seen many female COD players that kick the living s**t out of males. I'm an avid guy gamer, and I approve of this message. More power to you, lazette.

Thank you so much! For the record, my guy friends have never beaten me on Tekken (PSP) XD. That's happened to me a lot of times too, that's why I usually just stick with fellow female players in an MMO.
