I have cut down on smoking and now it looks like my health is getting worse rather than better.I think that at this rate i will get back up to the normal 20 and above smokes aday rather than trying to stick to half that amount. They say that my haemoglobin has risen yet again and they think it is secondary to smoking, well how do they work that out as i have cut down by half the amount i smoke. My circulation is not getting better or staying the same as that has also got worse and causing more pain, so where is the justice in that.

It's really hard to cut down on a habbbit and it requires a strong determination to do so. I have never been into smoking but i know that side effects are one of the major draw backs that a person has when dealing with quitting. But the more you smoke, actually brings more detrimental effects than quitting. Have you heard of pack years? One pack per day is actually equivalent to a 1 pack year. Can you picture it out. Besides, there are a lot of substitute to smoking that would be helpful to you nowadays.

I am no doctor but from what I know smoking does not help at all, so I'd say you should probably cut it down or totally stop it, if that is even possible, and then start living healthy, herbals, diets, exercise and all that. As my teachers used to say, health is wealth.

better quit smoking. well, it wont be easy, of course. But think about alternatives, do other things that could make you forget about taking a stick for a moment... then repeat the process if it works on you.

Maybe smoking has damaged your body now.. But I do suggest you stop smoking completely since it will do your health no good. You should eat healthier and exercise too, to improve your health.

first of all ask yourself , why do you smoke? my friends in college ask me to smoke twice, yes i tried it but i never been used to it. If you will consider all the factors about smoking, it is really worth giving up smoking because smoking will not enhance your health or personality.Maybe you will be accepted by your friends because they are all smoking but at the end of the day, you will end up with your relatives, and they don't want you to smoke because they know what will be the effect if you will continue smoking. Happy mylotting

I'm going to be very unpolitically correct. The only reason to quit smoking is because you Want to quit smoking Period! We all will have to die so be Should enjoy what we want.

It's definitely worth it, you feel so much better after just a few weeks. I gave up about 8 months ago now and am glad I did. I have put on a bit of weight but I'll just have to exercise to get rid of that. I find it has worked with my circulation too, my hands go blue in the cold and my feet are always cold at night in bed, but those things have got better since I gave up smoking.

I don't know why your health seems to be worse when you cut down on smoking. Somewhat it shall have an improvement. Perhaps it is not enough yet. Have you considered to quit the smoking totally? If you can keep on it for some time, I am sure your health shall be better. I love China

haha =D Giving up smoking is never a good choice at all. BEcause the harm has been done and no matter how long we quit, it's not gonna help at all. THe minute we think we are in good health, all the symptoms would suddenly appear, making it look worse than we actually smoked.. lol =D SO unless one is really in great pain, but not dying, go ahead and smoke

I have never been a smoker, so I don't know first hand how hard it is to quit smoking, but I do know my Dad smoke for years. It eventually took his life from all the complications at the young age of 65. I hope you are able to continue with decreasing the amount that you smoke..it can only mean that you will get healthier. Good luck!!

Stop smoking does not mean our health improves immediately or in a short span of time. THe effects of smoking over the years are stored in our body, and it takes time for them to show up, in their worst state. Be determined and stick to it, don't go back to before. HOwever, life is only that short, do what makes u happy, and not live in vain, enjoy yourself while u can. It does not matter to suffer a little, so long u make yourself feel good in the process.

While I am a smoker myself, I have to speak up and say that you stopping your smoking cannot be the reason for your decrease in health. There must be other underlying issues to raising your hemoglobin or worsening your circulation. I would look into getting a second opinion to find out what treatments are available to you. But keep your smoking down and cut it even more if possible. Trust me, you will thank yourself in the end.

Got your body's sake you need to stop the smokes ASAP, This habit adds more stress to your poor body, which is stressed already. Just think what your children would do without you or with you in an even more serious condition. If anyone every needed to be in the best health possible it's you. Please take care.

I quit smoking 3 years ago now and I'm not sure if I really feel better but I know I save a lot of money. My boyfriend is doing the same thing you're doing and so far he seems to be the same as before...but again , it saves me a lot of money and in the long run it is healthier.

Congratulations, for cutting back on your smoking habit, however, quitting is the best possible choice. When you quit smoking you add so many year back to your life, which I am sure makes your family happy that you will not be dying at an earlier age because of chronic conditions from your smoking. Just toss those silent, for awhile, killers away, you will feel good about your decision. Good Luck

Hiya jugs, It really is worth giving up Smoking. Maybe you won´t see the benefits just yet. I think the Body needs time to adjust to a new situation and it will takes its time to help you and regenerate. It can take up to five years a Doctor told me. He seemed to think that I smoked because I had a really nasty cough then. So going along with what he was trying to lecture me about being a Smoker which I never have been he said that after a lot of blah, blah that it does take time for the Body to take it all in that it does not have to cope with that thing they call Smoking. I did have Whooping Cough when I was very small and it has left me with a bit of an allergy thing. But I have never smoked in my life. There you are straight out of the Horse´s Mouth. He thought I was a Smoker and told me that I should give it up there was just no way he was going to believe that I was not a Smoker. Don´t give up now Jugs give it the time you would not give it. You might find one or two things heal by themselves too don´t ask me ask the all knowing Doctor who was giving me a long Lecture about not smoking. Hope you are a lot better now jugs. Take care Sue.xxx
