For some of the teachers and professors, they think that internet lessen the creativity of a student. It is because it teaches students to be lazy when it comes with reading. Students, according to them just do copy and paste method whenever a research work will be asked on them. However, for some, they think that students become more creative because of internet. They learn not only to do research but also they are able to make some blogs with regard with their studying. As for me, I think using an internet has a good effect on me because I can find many ideas via internet. I think so that it enhances my creativity especially on my research work. How about you? What are your opinions on the effect of internet to students nowadays?

I think the internet can be used to enhanced someone's creativity, provided, of course, it should be used creatively. I don't want to sound puzzling here. All I want to say is that, students don't always have the necessary knowledge in how to use the internet effectively. Parents and teachers should help them with that. The internet is a vast ocean of knowledge. It's useful and there is no use denying it. Information is not the only thing that we get from here. Internet also serves well for our refreshments. You want to learn vocabulary, internet comes for your rescue. You try to learn vocabulary from books and it will take a year to learn anything of significance. Some people are continuously abusing the technology but that's not enough reason to take it away from students. I created a blog for engineering students. Students from all over India follow that blog. Many have become my friend through that blog. They use that blog as reference. It gives them additional support. Sometimes it even explains things better than a teacher would. I put a new dimension in their creativity. I provide them resources to ponder about. Ill effects can be avoided by extensively managing the content and not by banning the whole thing.

I think so that if we will use internet wisely, we can gain a lot of benefits from it just like what you are doing. It is a good thing to help people all over the world. Internet makes it possible and I am sure it gives you satisfaction also knowing you can help not only Indians but also other nationalities.

I don't think it will harm the creativity of student as Internet is kind of platform where we find plentiful of information related to anything that one need and i think instead of it effecting the creativity it is increasing the creativity of students... HAVE A NICE DAY..

hi siliguri, According to some educators, it is still the best way to learn by means of reading books rather than using internet. It is because books provide more reliable information compare to the information we can get on the internet. However, I believe that students should be careful when doing the research online to avoid getting unreliable information.

Just out of curiosity, where are you from? I know you are not from America, because most teachers encourage students to get information from the internet. Of course there are rules of citation that go with this. I am currently studying online so I am on the internet all the time. It doesn't increase or decrease my creativity.

Yes, I also think that the internet somehow makes students less creative, since they can easily find answers to their assignment in the internet. They can find anything there--designs and stuff, non-original and just copied.. But yes, they also learn tons of stuff there, some of them even use their learnings there and become more creative.

I think it has the two sides effect on students - creative and not being creative. At one side, student are more creative in doing their research, they could find anything from the internet, they can submit a research of 300 pages if they like, thus making them appear creative. On the other hand, yes, what they do is only copy, paste and edit a little. They do not read them and they do not use their brain to re-write them.

hi, i think using internet has a big role in students, especially in creativity, because they can look and study those designs and learn gradually and could easily adapt those creativity in net.

If the student's are copy pasting their work, the teachers need to put down some rules and demand better. Its their fault for doing nothing. All they have to do is type a sentence from the students report (assuming it was researched from the internet) into a search engine and they'll know in a few minutes if its an original or not. No, I wouldn't say it effects creativity, it just allows for it in a different way. The only complaint I have on it, is so many teachers are expecting the students to use it for every thing and they don't stop to realize that some students may not have or be able to afford some of the programs they ask to use.

It really depends on the student. When I was in college, most professors would check the papers for plagiarism, and the students who were caught failed the examination. So, in the end, they had to come up with their own work. But it also happened that the answers to some exams were posted on an online forum a few days before and those who didn't want to study just took the answers from there. So, there are two sides to the argument. However, I don't think the Internet had a bad effect on my creativity, mostly because I don't copy other people's work. The information we find online is incredibly useful, if we know how to choose it and use it, and it saves us a lot of time. Teachers should be more progressive, because whatever the effects of the Internet, it's too late to go back now anyway.

I think using an internet has a good effect to students nowadays because they can do many things regarding their studies.Students is not depending only to their books regarding their ideas but through the use of internet they can now surf different webs to explore more ideas. Not only with that they can also show their creativity to enhance there projects and find some ideas to be creative one in their chosen field.
