What is the teaching method of your teacher in which you learn best?

We all have differences on the way we study. Some learn best if the teacher is strict. I have a number of teachers that are strict. They were the one who let us copy lectures and discuss it with us afterwards. Then a quiz will follow to test us if we understand his teachings or not. Some learn best if their teacher acts like a friend to them. It is when they can make jokes with the teacher and the latter won't get angry. Instead of being upset with the students, the teacher will also give back some jokes. Some learns best when the teacher teaches them one by one or individually and some learns best when the teacher is giving group activities. How about you? In what teaching style you learn best?

hi, when i was in college,i would love if my teacher would teach us in short discussions only, then after that he will now teach us through hands on or the oral method, where i could easily learn.even me, when i practiced teaching in college,i preferred to teach in oral or hands on method.so my class will catch up the topic we had.

that method is correct way to teach means with jokes and joy pupils can understand the lesson right? most of my teachers do like that only me too impressed by them. if i become a lecturer i will teach practically and in a friendly manner it helps the students to lessen interestingly and they grasp the things easily.

the teaching method that i love most is the interactive and visual ones... that is, where there is a two way communications between the teacher and the students plus the teacher uses visual aids to help to explain the points that he/she wanted to deliver to me... it will help me to learn better this way and it is not so boring as well... take care and have a nice day...

In my opinion, strictness is not at all desirable on the part of a teacher for study purposes! Only open discussion with a friendly environment and life related approach of analysis during teaching is very important! Teaching methods must be more focused at experiential way of learning rather than bookish manner! A single experience of a fact is more important than pages written on the books or notes! Thanks for this nice discussion and let experience be your best teacher like me!!

I think the best method of teaching is very much depended upon who are the students. That is why I agree that students should be grouped by the level of their IQ and EQ, so they will understand the lessons better and learning will be more interesting to them. I am (not my intention to boost) a fast learner. I hated it when my teacher always started a lesson by repeating the previous lesson just to jog the students' memory. I want them to go straight to the new lesson because I understood the first time they explained, I did not want them to repeat and repeat what I'd known. But other students needs to be told twice or sometimes three times till they understood. I had to go with the rest of them, thus I often was bored in a class. I wrote poems or a song lyric instead of really listening to the teachers.

I learn best--I think--when the teacher is truthful---when `e presents things 'as they actually are' (i.e. what they are to `m, to me, to most people ... i.e. with as many viewpoints as possible, to give students a 360^2-degree picture of the things) That way I know all I can and all I want to and nothing I don't want to.

the teacher should be frank in his/her teaching ways! should communicate well with the students! should be the solutions like our friends do.

I think the best teaching style that i learn most is discussing the topics slowly that the teacher makes sure that all of his/her students knows the topic that he.she was discussing. In that way everyone will understand the lesson and not only the top students or the fast learner students. Hope I gave a nice answer.

I learn best a difficult subject by examples. Say there's a new and completely different chapter in math book. The teacher in my old school used to make different examples on the chalkboard and gave us rules to memorize. The next lesson she gave us task to complete and we used given examples to go by to solve the problem. When we didn't understand or got different answer or just plain got lost with the numbers she came to us and helped us understand. When the problem persisted, she explained the problem we had on the chalkboard so all could see. That way learned in many lessons in a row and she gave us homework to practice with. By the time the test came many had different formulas memorized and knew how to begin solving the problem. My best way to learn is by creating connections between different subject or within same subject but between different chapters or even different school years. Also you have to have a loose head and willingness to understand to learn, not to whine how difficult it is or stare glaze-eyed at the chalkboard. That's my experience.

I learned the best teaching method from my teacher in History. Ever since, we are all struggling in the subject History. Memorizing dates, people's long names and events made us suffer. But when we reached our 7th grade, a teacher changed all of these. He was a happy, calm and have a great sense of humor. When we first met him, he then made us impressed of him. He also shared more than two experiences in his life in just the first day. He never became angry or reprimanded us although sometimes, we are noisy. Whenever we are having quizzes and exams, he will review and refine every question in the long test to us. And that made the lessons easy.

The only time I don't learn much from a teacher is if they rely on a PowerPoint presentation throughout the whole discussion. I'm not sure, but for some reason, I learn best when the teacher takes it hands-on, or with a chalk/white-board marker and a board. Also, when they make jokes from time to time.
