examination hall - examination hall showing students writing papers
India

These days if you see the results of examinations in colleges and schools, we see girls as toppers, they secure high percentage of marks in examinations, but boys secure less marks or fail. Probable because, the things boys do in exam hall Counting how many girls there in the hall, , looking at the lady supervisor, counting how many windows & doors in the hall has, checking the brand name of the pen, pencil, eraser, pencil cutter Feelings for wasting yesterday's night by not studying. Think to study well at least for next exam. But the girls keep writing with full concentration, this is the secret behind their success. Please share your opinion and views. Keep responses CLEAN. Thank you so much in advance. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

I agree about this observation regarding the performance of boys and girls in exams. I observed the same thing in the school where I am working at. Studies have shown that many male students have higher IQ than the females, but it is not all about IQ. Most girls are more serious in their studies compared to the boys. Most girls can easily concentrate on working of stuff and studying for the exams. The boys especially those who always dwell with company may get distracted by some other concerns.

Well.. This is not always true many teachers in our highschool would give all the Girls B's and all the boys A's .. it was a common problem.. happened in other classes the other way like you stated in above.. Not fair at all when everyone worked and did a good job and tried just as hard.. I was one of the lucky girls that got an A.. but I am a major Tom Boy as well ..

It is not unusual for girls to do better. Often they try harder because good grades are a place where they can excel. In our country it is often said that girls have better language skills than boys, and so they do better on written tests.

well, commonly speaking, boys are more exterior, that they would focus more than one stuff or what's happening. but girls are comparely interior, and they would prefer on simply one thing and want to do it well.they would be more calm sometimes. However,i also see some study groups,in which boys and girls study together,in there, boys are much more effective in study than girls with the girls help.

Hi! I agree that there are more girls who excel in class than boys. This is true in our university wherein majority of the class honors are girls. This is probably because girls are diligent with their studies. I always find a lot of boys just smoking, relaxing and sitting in hallways rather than reading books or spending time in the library to do research. I think boys and girls are equally intelligent, it's just that girls tend to study more and boys lax on their studies.

Hello sir, Girls are ready to do hard work. Major percentages of the girls are not interested in love affairs and they concentrate their studies and think about their future. Boys are bit lazy, don’t like to sit infront of books and read and read….. I don’t think we should blame all boys, we can find the lazy boys and lazy girls.

hiprofessor I had noticed that when Iwent back to college. some boys would come to finals partly drunk to dull the pain of taking a final. according to one fellow. us women studied and thus we found the finals quite easy. the men instead fiddled with things looked around the room, whispered to each otherr an mostly flunked or got low grades. Now we all had the same chances so why do men do this in collegt or university? We women always studied and were serious about our studies but the men mostly seemed intent on goofing off. Now had they a test fo peple to goff offs I am sure they would have really scored high there.

Maybe boys spend more time enjoying themselves than studying hard. I do know a lot of huys who'd rather play all night than to study for exams. They'd rather sleep late than rest. They think that they can cheat their way through an exam. Some boys are more laid back, that's why they get low scores. Of course there are girls who are like these as well. There really isn't a distinction on whether girls are smarter or more hard-working. Of course, that is in my country where girls are supposed to have equal rights as men, and have been enjoying this kind of treatment for a long time already. I'm not sure about your country, but maybe there are still existing prejudices towards women that drive women to excel better, because they have this thirst to prove something. It's like when there's a scholar in school, that person is smarter and has high grades because his/her parents can't afford to let him/her go to school, that's why he/she has to be a scholar. Since they are poor, he/she tends to do better because his scholarship depends on it, and also, being at the top of the class would greatly help him/her a job when he/she starts working. Sometimes, there is a need for someone to be really good at something, that is why that someone is really putting in a lot of effort for it

I think this is true all over the world. There are plenty of theories as to why this happens. There are no answers. I've noticed it doesn't change much as people get older. Women can sit for hours quietly knitting, reading or playing bingo for that matter at a ripe old age. Men on the other hand need to be moving. Sometimes what men are doing is incredibly physical, to the point women would shun the activity. Men are all about their chain saws, checking the roof, or fiddling with the car, while women quietly sit inside sewing, cooking or doing laundry.

The activity are certainly different. Thank you so much for telling. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

From the time I entered grade school which is in the 80s, girl students already excel in class better than boys. It's no wonder at all why girl excel and boys don't. Girls behave more in class and they pay attention to the teacher while boys usually are naughty and only wants to play. If boys do excel, most of them are very feminine and in fact they are gay.

hello dada, Here in my country,it is not a surprise anymore. Ever since, girls and boys competition at school is not a subject to debate. Most of the time, girls excel at school then boys (this is during high school/secondary level) When it comes to college level, the competition between boys and girls depends on every major/course (before, less girls are taking up engineering/journalism etc) Unlike today that girls are also into boys work/job and careers (the more competition is) So,whenever we have our school reunion and alumni homecoming...we've come to met and know what courses/jobs women and men are in common. And there is no comparison at all..like how women drive their car.(not a surprise) Have a great day dada

Since you first asked this question my attention has turned to the impact the trend you mention on our economy! A news story came up about women starting to fill the board room. During the last thirty years women have risen to new heights economically. They talked about the first and foremost reason has been the woman's movement allowing woman to own property and start taking traditional men only classes. But with that in mind woman began overtaking mens ability to run a business, achieve financial success, and even become part of Wall Street. Why? Because women tend to...well, do everything you mentioned! This actually was news worthy in the US!

Hi prof, I think it is a case to case basis. In some countries, there are many boys who excels in their school than the girls. The key here is, who have the most concentration among the students. I also think that parents played important role in keeping their Child atop their class.
