Unexpected Help!

Have you ever had unexpected help from our moderator Go Ask Alice (GAA)? It is a really good feeling to have a moderator who will step in and answer and clarify the rules and explain the workings of myLot. I have seen many discussion where some user has questions in a discussion and perhaps is not quite getting the correct answer in the response etc., so GAA steps in and in plain English gives the correct information. Thanks myLot for GAA she/he is so different from some of the moderator on other forums and shoe the tact of a diplomat!! Has GAA ever helped you in a situation?

GAA has helped me in more than one situation both in dicussions and in PMs. They are the only Lotter that has openly given me permission to stalk them too I have learnt a lot by doing so and enjoy spreading their word and linking others to information from the PTB

MyLot have always had a policy that they tend not to respond where the answer to the question can be found somewhere on the site in the FAQs, Guidelines or Terms. Of late, I find it very encouraging to see GoAskAlice (who I think may be one of a number of moderators, depending who's on duty at the time) come in to discussions to clarify points. He (or she) always posts in a very diplomatic and exemplary manner.

Exactly how I feel. Some moderators on other sites do not know as much as they think they do.

While I'm here, I can't take all the credit. There are some regular users in the forums who are quite helpful as well to new users. I feel it would be ungrateful of me not to recognize their contributions here and express my appreciation. They define what I feel is Mylot's sense of community. I won't name names but you all know who you are and I sincerely thank you all.

You're right, GAA is very helpful and diplomatic and courteous as well. It's nice to see him/her pop in from time to time when there is a discussion about the guidelines and such. I think he/she helps keep us all on our toes and "in line', so to speak, which I mean in a good way...lol! Annie

GAA hasn't helped me directly but I certainly appreciate a moderator that actually reads posts and maintains a presence. Previously, myLot had moderators that seemed to never read anything! I'm glad they found someone who is attentive and consistent.

I can't remember ever getting help from Go Ask Alice (GAA), but it is heartwarming to know that MyLot is on top of things. MyLot is one of my favorite sites for discussions and it is good to know that they are keeping a watch on the discussions to not only moderate but to help out.

I was reading your post so fast that I did not see it. Sometimes I type so fast that my words are like my cat running through the house, the back end gets in front of the front end and the cat as my words get all mixed up.

Hi there. Yes, there was an instance here in Mylot where I think I reported myself for abuse for a duplicate topic. GAA responded there and suggested what to do. He/She also clarified some matters re the actions I did. He/She even added me as a friend so we can interact/discuss further the situation and can act accordingly. Yes, it is great that we have a moderator who seems to care.
