Bears In Trees

Over the weekend, my husband had to go run some errands. I thought I would just tag along for the ride. As we were driving down the road, he said "Look up in that tree is a bear". I looked and sure enough high in the tree was a bear. I told him that I thought bears hibernated in winter. He said the pregnant females do but other don't. As we continued to drive, I noticed another bear in a tree. In WV hunters are allowed to train their bear dogs year round. Evidently that is what was happening. The bear was climbing the trees to safety from the dogs. I just don't think that is right. It is cruel to the bears. I think they should only be allowed to train their dogs in bear season. Seeing these bears in the trees when dogs were after them just broke my heart. Have you ever seen a bear in a tree? Do you think hunters should be allowed to train their bear dogs year round on real bears?

Your a site for sore eyes, its nice seeing you here again. I thought bears hibernated in the winter too. Learn something new everyday. I feel sorry for the bears, thats tormenting them. I think its cruel too. No I ave never seen a bear in a tree. hopefully they don't have troubles getting down. I have seen the bears on the ground, never in a tree.

I think that everything related to hunting a certain animal, should take place during that animal's hunting season. And tell me, why do people hunt bears anyway? Do they eat the meat? Do they use the fur Dear, I can understand (though I'm not interested in hunting), since one eats the meat, and I totally understand fishing, though not during spawning season, but bears? Why?
