I always look back and feel that the best period in my life was while I was a student - in school and later in the university. No doubt there were stressful periods ,heartaches and all other difficulties that came with the process of growing up, but nothing compared to what you go through in life after you mature and settle down .At that stage you think that life would go on in the same manner little realising that you are going through the best period of your life.I keep telling my children to make the most of their life before they settle down, since one has to face responsibilities at some stage in life. Compared to that, it was such a fun filled and carefree existence and I wouldn't mind going back to those days and may be correct a few things here and there LOL What memories do you all have about your student days and does it make you feel nostalgic?Friends , Please share your experiences and feelings here..

Hello Kiran, How are you? Yes, definitely dear, that was the good period in my life too. I loved to skip the work at home in the name of study. The freedom we got at that time never comes back. I think the current life’s enjoyment we will realize in olden days only, don’t you think like that.

@prakask, what you say is absolutely true, not only can we not ski household chores, but we feel guilty even if we are forced to do so for a day ! My children keep teasing me that I worry about my Kitchen even when we are out having a meal at the restaurant which is true..

prakash, I beg to differ, these days it is important for every individual to be self sufficient whether in matters of education, earning cooking or housekeeping. I have taught all my children to do all the jobs. My son is a better cook than both my daughters. They ask him to prepare some dish for which they do offer help, since he hates cleaning , cutting etc; and all of them later leave me to clear up the mess lol...I feel that there should be no gender bias where ones own household work is concerned, indeed it makes you a better equipped individual capable of taking care of oneself in any condition anywhere in the world...what do you say ?

I didn't enjoy my days as a student which I was required so study. As a result, I didn't study and eventually parted company with the system. I wouldn't want to return to that period of my life particularly. However, now that I am older and can study because I want to I am far more open to learning and welcome the opportunity.

You get me wrong, I don't regret what is past. What I am studying now was of no interest to me back then anyway, and it is the fact that I am interested now which makes studying a pleasure.

Hi GreenMo, Yes I understand what you say .I agree that it is only when you have an interest in a certain subject that you are able to do full justice to it - all the best and have a nice evening

Hi GreenMoo, thanks a lot for your responseThere have been many such people who did not realise the importance of studies during their student days and later regret it.But it is good that you are thinking of studying now, all the best and have a nice week ahead

The year I studied in Germany was an awfully good year. One year "on my own", but with housing and tuition covered by the program, learning a new language, seeing new places, trying new food, etc. It was great.

I can imagine ! I really envy all those students who abroad for studies. It is such a great experience to study in a different country and learn about their ways etc; also be independent and enjoy life the way you want ..

I remember, as a student, how much I wanted to finish school fast because I just hated waking up so early in the morning. There are things I miss, yes. But I am a believer of "past is past" and so I leave it at that. I am enjoying the time I have now that I am done with school. I don't think I'd ever wanna go back with wearing blouse and skirts!

It's just that school reminded me so much of skirts. And skirts made me really uneasy. I was really boyish in my teens and so I hated every day of every week that I had to wear those skirts. And since my entire school life made me have to wear that outfit, then I sort of hated school! silly thought.

Hi, I remember the day when I was in class +2 and my classmate gave me the scrapbook to write something in it as a memory. I wrote a line there which was "I want to take the admission in 6th class again and want to correct few things I have done". I almost forgot about it till one day the friend asked me after 4 years later that why I wrote that line. I think this was the reason for that line. I enjoyed my school days but still I wanted to change few things and I wished if I could do that. I consider myself a student till date and I know there is many things to learn in my upcoming life. I am satisfied with what I have done but still I want to go back and enjoy it all again.

Hi sanjay, thanks a lot for sharing your views There is no going back in life right, I too wish many a times that one could go back and change a few things and relive the experience again.I guess it is precisely because of that , that those student life memories become so precious to us.I agree that we should be able to learn and have the will to grow all our lives only then can we enjoy life to the maximum - all the best and hope you are enjoying your Sunday

Yep I am enjoying my Sunday, I hope same with you. I have so many things yet to learn and I will keep doing it. I know going back is not possible so why to worry about it now, Let's us concentrate on the present and enjoy it.

I agree that when I was going to school there wasn't nothing hardly holding me back in doing things that I wanted to do. When you have a family you can't do as much stuff because you have a bigger responsibility and it cost more to do things with them. I try to tell that to my son that hasn't been graduated for very long that he needs to not get in a hurry to grow up to enjoy life as much as he can. He seems to be doing that. He is taking his time in life. He doesn't have a girlfriend yet and can spend his money on what he wants.

Hi ann,Thank you so much for sharing your views My mother used to tell me about her school days and they were so different to what was mine and when I talk about my school days and my children love to hear about it since their own experiences are totally different ...I am sure it is the case with your son too..all the best

Thank you for responding to my comment.Yes my school days are a lot different then my sons and I tell him the difference at times . Like we played more games together at school when I was a kid that my kids never heard of example: red rover red rover send someone right over, duck duck goose and lots of other ones. Have a good day.

Hi kiran, I also think student days are the best part of one's life. I'm nostalgic about my student life. I missed many friends. There are are many sweet memories with them. Now I'm a married man. I have wife and children. I have to think for my family. I have to give calculative step for every decision. But at the student life I was free. I had no stress except study. But one should utilise his/her student life. In student life any derailed step may spoil the whole life.

Hi bhanu, that is the charm of student life - being free to do whatever one wanted, ofcourse there were other limitations ! and also be carefree with absolutely no responsibilities ...as you say you had to have a direction so the right things were done, since it effects your whole life. But on the whole it is the best phase of one's life ..all the best, enjoy your week..

Hi kawalnarang, thank you so much for your response.I agree that for almost all people, their student days are the best .It was the same case with my parents - Both were working and they shared all the work together to make us children comfortable before leaving for school etc; simple happy days that would never come back...all the best

I love my carefree days during med school.I buy everything I want and my parents give me whatever I ask-jewelry ,cell phone, an apartment ...Now that I am working, it is harder because my parents passed away already and whatever my heart wants, I have to work hard for them..But I never like to go back to school ever and have another board exam and sleepless nights to pass the exams.I am happy at this present stage of my life.Perhaps, my parents are happy also wherever they are

Hi mimiang, thank you so much for your response I guess having lost your parents does make things different for you .Once we grow up , we automatically realise that nothing can be got without hard work and a lot of effort. My granny would always say that we work with both our hands, legs and entire system and earn just enough to hold within one hand...all the best and enjoy your day

Hi kiran: I have nothing to add. I completely agree with you. Student days are the bes time of everyone's life. Even if I have passed through some bad moments (some other students bullied me) and that I was usually worried but some of the problems that weren't that big I have enjoyed these days and it's a little bit sad because you know that they have gone and will not go back again . I think that the advice that you give to your children is so good. Thanks for asking us this question. ALVARO

But after many years I met 2 of them and we really hit it off, became good friends talking about school days...all the best and have a nice day

Being a student is the best part of my life. That was also the most easiest. All I have to do is to study, make projects, have fun, and definitely, to learn. I am just laughing at the fact that when I was a student, I will always give up or wish that education was not invented due to my laziness. LOL Hanging out with friends and dating were very common during my high school life. I had a girlfriend for just a school year. But in the next months, she migrated to other country. From that moment on, I stopped looking for girlfriends even though girls themselves courts me during the valentine's day. I just continued studying and maintaining my first rank in the class. I miss my student days the most because during those times, I was highly respected and befriended by all my classmates even the bullies. I am just the only one giving them materials that they did not bring. Which just results into indulgence. LOL

Student life was the best times of my life indeed. It was the time when I was more challenged financially, academically, emotional, and physically and mentally. It was during those times of my student life that I was filled with dreams and more idealistic. I surpassed my student life in the manner I expected it to end. I missed those times though. But I mind going back. I don't think I can still have the vigor and drive I had then.

Those were the days that everyone are carefree and all for enjoyment. I wish we can come back again on those stage.

Hi chaverzmc,I agree I feel the same way when I look back on those days. But we went through with it, there were pressures , but far far less than what the students face today. We had no diversions like the internet etc etc....life was simple and so were our needs - thank you so much for your response, enjoy your day

Yeah you are right student life is best time i ever had.Being so carefree, oh! i really miss those days. There are so many memories but we didn't used to have that much homework as today's kids have nor so much pressure. Education system is becoming a burden nowdays.

Hi akangirl,I agree that we had carefree days with regard to home work and generally as a student. The pressure was far less. I pity the students now. First of all there is no breathing space available and even if there is, with tuitions and other connected activities they have no time to enjoy life.I do feel that it has become a highly competetive life now...thanks a lot for sharing your views and have a wonderful day
