Email Notification flood

Most of us would keep email notification whenever a friend post a new discussion. Recently there has been lot of email notification from a particular friend, posting sometimes up to 10 or 20 discussion a day. The problem is when I go look at the dicussion, the one posting never reply back. Is the person hoping that creating lots of discussion alone will increase ranking? I really don't think that deleting the friend is a immediate solution, but can we all brainstorm how to handle common situations like this in myLot? You might want to suggest other common problems you face and put my brains together.

Since the person is on your friend's list perhaps you can private message the friend and voice you concerns. Might work.

I could do that. I do also note the positive attitude of the other lotters. The more they post and the more we respond, the more we earn. Thanks.

@tinffnkeat, it is a never ending process with the friends like this, you can PM as suggested, very few will listen while most will tell you even though they are very new that they do not think so. Best advice would be as suggested regarding the notifiers, as most do not stay long as see the misconception where as they feel if they post, post they will earn when they get disappointed some will leave. flip side is tht others join with the same misconception. This is why so many of us are all over the place trying to steer then in the right direction.

It also happens to me. I have not yet been opening my e-mail for 3 weeks I think. Then when I opened it today, I got 297 notifications from myLot!!! But It will not happen again I guess because i already turned off my friends' notification. I hope I won't be receiving any discussion notifications from now on.

Good for you too. I have also turned them off except for good friends in here. By the way, love your spiderman tango dancer. Maybe I should get the green goblin? Cheers!

I don't get emails when people reply to my discussion anymore. I forgot how I blocked them. I might have just blocked all MyLot messages. However, I still get regular updates from MyLot. Sorry I can't help you.

We are all friendly here, so it probably affects others. But no harm done. No worries.

YEs! I encountered that problem as well! As a result, i started a discussion about them, and without any thoughts, i will just delete them off my friend list. I just don't understand if they have the time to keep starting new post, why can't they use some of the time to respond right? No matter commenting or starting new discussions, both requires one to put in effort too. So why so biased and keep starting? I hate such users!

Hi Sanitary, I can feel you understand how I felt. It is re-assuring to hear a fellow sg-ean feel the same. I thought I am being too harsh. But no worries, the good folks above have shown us means to go around it. I have already implemented the suggestion. You can too. See you around...orchard road? lol...just kidding.

I think that lots of people get the idea that if they post a discussion and many people response to it, they get paid but they don't know that it is the other way round. But think of it this way, if they don't post any discussions, we wouldn't get the chance to reply back and hence, no pay for us. :)
