You will see why I am putting this under this Interest As some of you know I design and make Personal Cards and a couple of my Friends order from me, one lives in the US 4 Weeks ago I posted her Cards that I have made for her, I am so upset because her Brothers Birthday was on the 23rd January, so I got them done in the post well in time for them to get there I stayed up most of the Night to get them all done to post the next Day, well I posted them on 7th January, guess what...................they are still not with her, actually I am posting her other Order on Tuesday I am very upset about this, I also put a Calendar in with the Cards for her Mum and all the cards are for Birthdays I am so angry at the post, the amount it costs to send them is bad enough but then for them not to get there is maddening I am still desperately hoping that they will get there, I have the Designs saved on my Computer but that is beside the point, it is upsetting me that they are still not there, my lovely Friend is being so good about it but I am so upset and mad that these Cards are still traveling around the World Well the next batch will be sent with Tracker so we can track them which will cost more but at least we will know where they are floating about So do you think they are traveling the World ??????

okay just had my whole response wiped out, yesterday I had to fight this only made 58 cents all day as everything I wrote had to copy it to clipboard sentence by sentence.Thats so awful that its taking so long to get your gorgeous cards to your US friend. and here too the mail can really be snail mail.I had a calendar mailed to me from Australia and it only took a couple of days bu t it sure must have cost a bundle as there a lot of stamps on it. It had Au ssie wild life on it so to me its a keepsake from a dear fellow mylotter. I hope your cards have got there by now. I know sometimes here in the US we have some slow spots too. I sent a letter five miles and it took five days to get there. ridculous. well hope underthings okay by now.

Hatley, you are having an awful time lately with your posts. I have never used clipboard. I have a notepad, where I can type the whole thing and then copy and paste it all at once. I have also used Microsoft Word and Microsoft Works. There is also a free software you can download that will give you word processing. I hope you get this thing figured out.

I understand you frustration. Although you friend is understanding it is so disappointing especially when you put forth so much effort. I will be praying and crossing my fingers that they get there in time Gaby. As I know the feeling of commitment that you were instilling. Sometimes I do not understand why the post office at times delays the delivery. As this once I did not get tan invitation for a special birthday party until six months after the party was over and missed it. Let's hope even if it is the day of they get there.

I have a story to tell you Gabs. Years ago, about 11 years actually, (my how time flies,) I had a coffee shop. I always pay my bills religiously on time so I was bewildered to receive a phone call one day from my milk supplier to say they had not received their cheque payment for that month. I checked my books, and sure enough, I had somehow forgotten the payment. I apologised profusely and sent of a cheque immediately. Imagine my shock when 2 months later they called again to say they had not received the current month's cheque. I assured them it was posted and when I went to the bank that day I asked them to see if the cheque had been cashed. It had not. I cancelled that one and sent another and forgot about it. About 6 weeks later I received a card from England from an unknown person. I opened it up and there was my cheque to the milk supplier. My envelope had been stuck to an envelope containing a Christmas card she received from a friend in Australia. The lady wrote that she thought I may be wondering what happened to my cheque so she returned it using the return address I always put on my mail. I was quite amazed by the fact that my cheque had travelled around the world and come back to me. Sadly, the milk supply company was not impressed when I rang them, some people have no imagination. I hope your cards arrived in time.

I was just reading Maximax's post below and I remembered for several years after my daughter had her last move, none of the birthday cards I sent the girls arrived. Obviously, someone was pinching them because they were obviously birthday cards and don't people quite often put a fiver or a tenner or whatever inside birthday cards?? I reckon that's why they were pinched...someone looking for money.

Hi Gabs, It is so dishaertning when they don't get there on time, the card you made for me fro a firend at Chrstmas didn't get there, one did but the other must be lost or still floating somewhere round the world, don't know what is wrong with the post these days, next time send it by a pigeon, it might get there on time.Hugs. Hiya gabs, Hope that they have received them all by now then. It really is annoying to have to wait for something to get there to its destination and also when you are waiting to receive something too. The waiting can be exasperating I can tell you. When I was writing to my Husband when he was doing Military Service sometimes the letters would take ages to reach England. They used to come so late I had to take them to work with me to read there and I got nudged by all the Girls come on what´s he saying this time. Of course I did not have a clue what he was telling me because I had to get out a Dictionary and translate it on top. My letters from England to Spain got here quite quickly though but not so the other way around.

Hiya gabs, Me again late as usual so they must have got there the second time around. It´s bad enough having to wait for something that you really want and can´t receive it on time. I imagine you´re very busy doing other Cards too as well. Do they always take that long then? I suppose they don´t really the British Post is one of the best in the World for delivery at least it was while I was there anyway. How is that little Fellow then and his Girlfriend Roxy doing? Take care now and see you around.xxx

I haven't lost any packages lately and some I've sent with a tracker, some not. But if the USPS cuts back locations/etc. to save money, I expect it will get worse. So in the future, anything of value, I think I'll be sending with tracking and maybe even confirmation. Then again, I might just go with FedEx... My brother and sister-in-law's birthdays were on January 23rd. I'm awful! I didn't send a card, I just called...

Hiya sweetie, hiya Daddy Gissi ;0) Kind of grinds of you doesn't it, like adding salt to the wound especially when postage is again going up, and yet the service is going down, even if you were to complain you just get the bulk standard letter they have as a template which they send out, (must need thousands of them!) It is highly maddening especially when you put in all the effort, time and cost into getting them to your friends/loved ones in time. They could be anywhere, it doesn't bear thinking about, trouble is there is no way of tracking them properly once they are posted, it's like leaving it all to luck and fate. No one seems to care any more. Sending you both a big Wolfie hug xxx

Gissi lol we still do not know yet xxxx

I am afraid someone might have stolen them, Gabs, or even as bad, they might have slipped under or behind a counter and gotten stuck. It is so frustrating. Of course, if you replace them, they will show right up.

Two years ago I was in South Africa on a trip and I sent 10 postcards to members of my family and friends from a post office in Mossel Bay on the Garden Route. Strangely not one of these postcards made it over to the United Kingdom. I sent a CD to my friend in Poland and it got stolen I imagine. I got every single one of my sea mail parcels home from Australia. It is weird how some items in the mail service get lost. It would be a good idea to send tracker next time. It is a real shame these cards have gone missing.

They very well may be half way around the world...give it a couple of days more though. I have, in the last year, had a couple of very important things sent in the mail late and one lost. It is aggravating for sure.

Hello Gabs, I understand how sad you must be because of that delay! There has been already 3 weeks and your envelope didn't arrive at the destination! Not to mention it is already too late for Brendan's Birthday. Something like this happened to me, too, when I sent a package with a present for my nephew's birthday, a few years ago. The postal service delayed the delivery, so the present got there two days later. And I had sent it two weeks before the event! Let's hope your cards will be there soon, and your friend will understand that it's not your fault but the Mail Service's fault.

It does take a while to get things from another country but hopefully it didn't get lost in the mail. That would be upsetting. I have had mail that was supposed to come to me that never came even things that were mailed out from my same country. Good luck! Hopefully it gets to her soon! Have a good weekend!

The same thing happened to me at CHristmas....my packages to Germany were late so they didn't get them until after Christmas....I would like to know where they were during all that time...I think they are probably stuck someplace..I know when you do send something it's very expensive! They should have gotten it there in plenty of time!

i am so sorry to hear of the hassle you are having, but your friend sounds lovely and understanding. But i think this christmas just past , the card and letter service definitely went down the tubes to put it mildly. my in laws , who actually live in the road behind me, sent our card and we still havent got it. i must admit i was a bit disbelieving due to the family disagreements over the past year, but no they actually insisted they did send a card. and there were a few missing cards from people we get cards from every year and they were all local. i had cards from yorkshire 200miles away, norfolk 100 miles away so it seems to be a local problem. i do hope you get all the cards sorted out. e mail is so much easier, but a real card through the post, especially one of your hand made cards that i have been lucky enough to get myself, well to get a beautiful hand card is so special and a beautiful keepsake.

I have learned that letters and parcels posted to the US can get there very quickly or take an age. 3 months is the record I think. Bu then again I sent a letter to Texas and it was there in less than a week. Unlike here, not everywhere has a daily delivery service and people have to fetch their mail when they go into town. Obviously larger towns and cities are different. Also, never send by surface mail unless you are posting now for Christmas - it takes forever. I suppose that's why it is cheaper!

mail service is terrible here. its probably on this end that the problem came. you'd think with whats charged they'd be more careful. especially since internet has gotten more load off them. i hope it dont happen what happened to my photo of mom yrs ago. i had an unreplacable photo i sent to a company ive dealt with for yrs. even had a tracking number. went to the post office after 2 mths to tell them, id called the company and they said it never arrived. i was trying to get some copies for my kids. anyway, they said at the p.o. that it had been delivered. but no one had signed it made no sense. they asked me if i wanted the postage replaced? WHAT!!?? like postage is all i worried about. i was so mad. ive never known what happened to the photo

I just wish that mail wouldn't get lost like that tracking numbers should be placed for example I ordered a ps3 control and it has still not arrived I don't know what happened, but at least ebay is reliable because they have a resolution center. Still my brother has been annoying me about it constantly and I am really irritated already because what is taking so long mail these days. Well I never really mail any cards or anything like that all I do is buy stuff on ebay I do love expediated shipping because my stuff arrives much quicker and it's more reliable. Oh and so true tracking numbers you have to pay more for those, but I think that it's worth it that way it never gets lost and you know where it's at all of the time.
