There are alot of people that put a picture of themselves on facebook, yet there are alot of other people that never even put a picture up of anything.I have never added a person that i know without their photo, just incase it is not them at all and it is someone else saying it is them.

hello joystick, Well i always put my real picture on my profile so people will recognize me besides if you don't have a hidden idea there is no reason for you not to put your real picture on it, since i am in a private mode even how many time you tried to search for my profile you cannot find it unless you know my email address. I also don't easily add request unless they put an introduction message. happy posting

i have registered on facebook but due to the fact that pictures there can be so easily copied by anyone without the owner's approval, i am just very discouraged that i dont go there at all. i posted my own picture here in mylot. my philosophy is, i am not keeping anything so why hide? i like to see a picture of who i am talking to. it makes friendship more... personal. ann

I usually post my kids or me with the kids . . . I haven't posted "just me" yet. I have added those without a photo of themselves - and luckily it has been the real person. However a couple friends of mine have dealt with imposters . . . one friend had a famous poet friend from college - and it turned out to not be the person she thought it was. She truly felt violated - and I can understand that.

I have never put a picture of my real face in facebook, but some of my friends do it for me- they just tag me. I loo at a person's profile, photos, and mutual friends before i add them too- just to make sure if it's really them.

Hi dear, The sole idea of facebook itself is meant for it and people don't do it. We know that millions of people are registered with facebook and I doubt half of the entire registered users keep their own photos. There may be certain confidential reasons for few people, but it is genuine. As you know, many are come up with other person's photos. Eg. may are posting their interested cricketer, film actor, actress, flowers, potato, animals, animations, and what not. It is not the real way of doing. That ever everyone should know. Keeping self name and uploading someone else's photo won't be appraised. This is what I feel. Thank-s

All the people in the facebook seems to me not good so I have uploaded my picture as avatar and that picture was filtered with some blur component using photoshop cs software so my picture is not visible clearly. I did not uploaded my family picture also. But many people uploaded their family photos so I am thinking now that uploading of photo in facebook or internet not too hazards. However, I have no such a relatives who is living abroad and need to see my family photo daily through facebook. We can exchange photo and document via yahoo messenger easily so I do not feel need to upload picture in facebook.

It is really a weird one for me. I have been on Facebook about a year. I went on because I met alot of people on Mylot and wanted to get to know them better on Facebook. But, here's the rub, I started many years ago using my great grandmother's name online for safety reasons. I had been hacked into on AOL several times so I thought going uncogneto would be best. Then when I went on Facebook I realized I needed to go straight as it were and fess up to my real name. I thought I might find some old freinds too and wanted my real name on there for that reason as well. So here I am on Facebook with both names. And, no, I rarely put my picture up although there are many on my profile. I don't care for who I have become over the the last twentyfive years. I used to be kinda cute and now I am a fat old woman. There's that too.

Yes, I do now. It's a nice picture of me and I've had it on for a while, but before that, I just put some sketch I made as a profile pic. I've had two separate versions of myself as a fairy.

I usually don't put a picture of myself on forums etc....but I do put a picture of something else instead. I do have a picture of myself, husband or children on Facebook, however....but only mt Facebook friends can see it.

I definitely do. Both on MyLot and Facebook. MyLot, I don't feel insecure about showing myself OR being worried about sharing too much information..Because it's such a world-wide site, it's rare enough to meet someone in the same area as you who might become a threat. Oh, but on Facebook, I do. I mainly just talk to my friends and co-workers on there, so it's no big deal at all to me to have a pic up on there.

By uploading our photographs in facebook, we can recognize our friends in this social network. This is our main intention in joining the social network to know more people. In mylot, my main intention is to discuss certain topics and to earn money from our discussions. I don't think our photographs are so important in mylot. Moreover, we can not restrict only certain of our mylot members to access our photographs and personal particulars.

Yes. I have a profile picture of my own in facebook and some other social networkings sties. Having your own profile pictures helps you gain more friends because they see you as on your own self. There are also some people who just grab somebody's photos and claiming it as their own pics. I wonder why these guys steal someones picture? why they didn't use their own?

Oh Yes! I have added my photo in as my profile picture in Face book. But then since I found Face book , not interesting any more for me I have stopped the activities there and I have removed my photo from my profile too. Now a days all you can seen in my profile picture is a hoarding which says 'Shop is Closed' ! LOL ! This picture which I have added in Mylot is in fact a walking horse which seems a stub born one and not ready to walk as a profile picture here! LOL ! Do know the same fellow walks with grace if you go to my profile page! I don't know what has gone wrong with him here to walk! Thanks !

Yes I have a picture of myself on facebook, but I will accept friend requests from people who do not have pictures of themselves if I know who they are, because I know that some of my friends are cautious about putting pictures up of themselves. I am not afraid of people not being who they say they are because im pretty sure no one would try to pretend to be one of my friends and then add me.

I do post a picture of myself. First I am not as atractive that anybody will copy my picture and do something else with it. Second: I don like to talk to anonimous and faceless people.

I have picture of myself on my profile in only two of the social websites, and I don't feel uncomfortable about it. I think a personal photo can closer the distance between strangers. If I can know how my net friend looks like, I will feel much better to look at some other pics. But I just upload my personal photo to those website very popular and I know there are great many others put their photos on too, suck like facebook. But here mylot, most people do not use their real photo, so I don't use mine too.
