Aston Villa midfielder Stephen Ireland will join Newcastle on loan until the end of the season. Ireland will undergo a medical and will join Newcastle before the transfer window close on Monday. Ireland has seen little playing time this season. He is a good midfielder but he needs to get back in form. Going to Newcastle will do just that. What are your thoughts on this transfer?

Good movement for him. At least he got new opportunity to play regularly in toon army's side. I think he deserve to play in first team if no injured. And i think its good deals for newcastle too they have magical player in midfield.

I think it is a good move for both the player and the club. I think Ireland was one of the victims of riches coming too soon to Man City. After a fantastic season on the pitch he found himself warming the bench for no real reason other than the fact that the club was able to buy better players!! He has not been the same player since moving on to Aston Villa, now at Newcastle he might have a chance to get back to his old game!! Cheers! Ram

It just not a best season for Ireland is it. After a good season with Man City he found himself left out in the cold by mancini. Then he go to villa to seek a new lease in life but then it was not as he is expected. A move to newcastle should be a good move to rejuvenate his career. He is a good player and every good player need games. Let us all wish him luck.

Good move for Ireland but why did Aston Villa loan him out? They themselves are not in good situation as well. They would have needed him anytime later in the season. Newcastle have done very well since coming back in the league and will definitely benefit from this loan deal.

He's a really good player but it's worth noting that he's not getting on the team sheet of team who are struggling in the league while Newcastle's players have been performing well so I don't believe he will get as much game time as he thinks he will at Newcastle. Has this move been confirmed anywhere?
