Chelsea have loaned 21 year old striker Daniel Sturridge to Bolton for the remainder of the season. Sturridge moves to Bolton in hope of playing first team football. Sturridge is a great young player and will be a great addition for Bolton. His creativiy, shooting, and speed make him a terrific player. What are your thoughts on this transfer?

Great move by Chelsea. With Fernando Torres coming in, they were going to need to put him on loan so he could play some more first team soccer. Sturridge has played well for Chelsea and this will only improve his effectiveness for Chelsea next year and for years to come. Don't be shocked if Chelsea sell him to a club somewhere in the next few years for a lot of money.

I am not sure if Sturridge will get to play for Chelsea again. With Torres coming in, I am pretty sure even if he gets a chance it would be a rare chance. I think for Bolton he would be a great asset to have. Owen Coyle has been pretty smart with his buys getting players from clubs such as Arsenal and Chelsea on loan. Cheers! Ram

After buying Torres and having Drogba, Kalou and Anelka in the squad, what perspective would have remained to Sturridge to play even a few minutes? It is a wise decision, and if he will play well at Bolton and if Chelsea will sell one of their strikers than maybe he can come back and be a decisive player at Stamford Bridge. But because he is young, he needs to develop and gain match experience and a move to a team which gives him this opportunity is a very good decision.
