Card 21-The World

Card 21-The World - Card 21 of the tarot, the World
United States
February 2, 2011 9:14pm CST
The World also called the Universe in some decks represents things to come or things coming to an end. It is the beginning of a journey. It is the end of the journey. It is the god Saturn, Sebek, Pan, and Vidar. It is the goddess Gaea as earth. The World is the great one of the night. It is completion, and fulfillment. The World falls on the pathway between Malkuth (The Kingdom) and Yesod (Foundation) on the Tree of Life. This pathway signifies the movement upward toward Kether or downward from Kether. It is the beginning of a pathway toward the Crown, or the completion of the spiritual journey from Kether. Is said that Malkuth is in Kether and Kether is in Malkuth. As the Emerald Tablet says, “that which is above is like unto that which is below, but after a different manner”. If one draws the World in a tarot spread or by itself it signifies that a journey is about to begin or a journey is coming to a close. In the positive it represents completion, success, and fulfillment. The conclusion of events. In the negative it signifies that a project or issue may not be ready to come to a completion, or that there may be a fear of change. It is this fear of change that may stagnate the Querent. Questions: Have you recently completed a journey or started a journey?

The last card of the Major Arcana. "With each ending, comes a new beginning." As for me...I'm more or less stuck within the grasp of it's opposite, number 12, The Hanged Man. I have a difficult time making decisions, since I feel like I'm always standing at the crossroads between one thing or another, therefore never having completed a journey, nor started a new one. In a sense, "suspended" if you will. I have no fear, nor am I afraid of change. Change is inevitable. But for some reason which I have yet to identify, moving forward just doesn't seem to be..."in the cards." I do not take "leaps of faith", but I DO believe the answer lies with in me. Unfortunately, I have yet to discover (take the lid off) what I've put in front of me, to prevent me from moving forward. Perhaps losing part of my memory has something to do with it? cdrxo

So, if I am to understand you correctly...it is my present situation that I must resolve or come to terms with, b e f o r e I can move forward? Yes? cdrxo

Bear in mind that the positive aspect of the Hanged Man is self-sacrifice. It may be that perhaps the "block" to The World is simply not taking that first step, that leap of faith so to speak. It also seems important to remember that the World or Universe represents the beginning and the ending of the journey. So, it is possible that your very desire to move forward is in fact impeding you from moving forward in that by presenting the suggestion of a goal you are in fact distracting yourself from the present moment and whatever transition that may bring. I have/am doing both. Having recovered from a mental breakdown I am now embarking on a period of physical I'll health. Having got over a heart scare I now have to go onto hospital for heart tests. The outcome of these will determine how I am for the rest of my life. In preparation I have lost 34 lbs in weight with more to go. I am fitter through walking at least 3 miles a day - except that now I have injured my calf muscles! Grrrr. But there is no point at looking negatively at all if this. What is done is done. The only way is forward.

The main thing is to be positive and focused Alice. If you want to achieve then you will. Be warned though - there are sticky bun traps all along the way!!

Oh Alice. What shall I do with you? LOL. You need to radically overhaul your approach to food. Not in a daft way, but use the occasional bun (max of one per week) as a treat. Feed well in the morning and then get lighter as the day goes by. But more than anything else you need to have an achieveable goal to work towards. It might be a new dress, or to get ito an old pair of heans. For me it is simply a desire to stay alive which may in some way make my goals - a stone a month - easier. There's nothing like A&E in the early hours of the morning to sharpen ones resolve!

Started one, of course, though I'm temporarily stuck in a terminal with a long flight delay. :D

Well, if the terminal floors are moving regardless of how long it is you shall reach the end. Namaste-Anora
