If I can't Comment on you, that means I got "LAZY"

Hello Lotters, I know it's my fault for drinking that coffee but some how i feel some one curse me not to be too much active in mylot. I seemed to have a lot of distractions lately, while getting to the 5th or 6th response and so on i tend to leave and do other things.. I guess i should take back the "Response Collectors" thing because now I understand why not others are commenting immediate as possible. because, they got this brain drain that they couldn't explain. i know i couldn't it's a misery, we can only use 8% to 15% of our brain and yet we get lazy and can't respond more..makes me wanna rush EVOLUTION. Anyways, you get the point if I couldn't immediately comment on you.

Uhm... do you mean to say that we are expected to wait for responses and comment immediately on our discussions? Hmm... I don't do that. In fact, what I do is close the window after posting my discussion, go do something else, and come back to it later. I can then read responses and comment on them if I have something to say, or wait until there are several more of them. I guess you can call me a 'response collector' sometimes. =P It's just personal preference, I suppose. =) And I don't think it's laziness either.

Each one of us can choose to do things however we please. If you start a topic and comment back to responses immediately then it keeps it active and you are more likely to receive some more. You don't have to keep watching the page. You can go here: http://www.mylot.com/nr/editNotifications.aspx and put your notifiers to 'on' then check your mail and you will see whether you have new responses or not.

Hello there, at first, i thought it was going to be an empty discussion that's why i said but look at it now having three page of responses. i just don't want to keep people from waiting from my comments. besides, I've been here a long time that i didn't want to become a response collector here. for now, i just wanted to be open with topics and comment when i have the time. and yes, I MISseD MAKING NOVEL POST for a long time. but my brain gets tired thinking too muc

I understand. =) I do actually have all those boxes checked for notifications. But I am the same with my email as I am with discussions here. I close it. (Is that an unusual practice? =P ) Maybe it could fall under a time management thing... for example, one might prefer to check for responses every hour or so rather than every 5 minutes, so that one can do something else in that 1 hour. So still I say it comes down to personal preference. And by that I mean it includes your style, the way you do things, your priorities. Even the topic or your purpose for posting could be a factor. For instance, if you had a question that needed an urgent response, you might check back on it more often. The amount of free time you have (and this can be variable day to day) is also a factor. My point was just that I don't think it is absolutely required that you comment immediately on responses to your discussion (or even to comment at all... but that's another topic already =P ). But it appears some people might think it rude or being lazy. I hope they see that it is not necessarily so. In any case, you've made a good point. It is indeed more likely to receive responses and keep a discussion going if one comments immediately. And people can do so if they wish. But people who don't wish to, for one reason or another, are also free not to. (Personally, I will keep in mind these tips. =P So far, I've collected: (1) keep new discussions short so more likely that people will read it, (2) comment in timely manner to keep discussion active and get more responses. Of course, in the end, it will be up to me if I follow these tips, and if I will follow them each and every time or only sometimes. =P ) (And I see I've written a novel again. It's my disease, it seems. =P )

I have seen your recent topics and you have so much on your plate right now that I wonder how you even find the time to start any topics. Get back when you can, if you can, and don't bother about us. We will still be here regardless of whether you comment back now or never

Why did you give up with your movies? You were so enjoying them at the time and then all of a sudden you stopped and I have never understood that

Hello TITA D, NO, I think I am just lazy as it is, but i wonder why? last night i thought about watching a Computer game on youtube that i realized that i do need to bring back that kind of entertainment and that is playing PC games most specially the simulation ones as for "never" that's impossible, unless the topic i made is useless i could always have the time to respond. just not immediately

It is not unusual to not respond to all comments. If a comment is only a one liner, I will not respond. I mostly respond to comments that have something to respond to. If all it says is "I understand" or something similar, I don't do anything. There have been some topics that I have commented back and forth on five or six times or more because there was something to respond to. Sometimes it takes a while before I get a response on a reply or a discussion and that's ok! Other times I get a response right away. I fully understand if you are not able to respond! Take your time and have a great day!!!

Hello Letran, i understand what you mean ... I'm the same - usually i can't comment (in row) more than 2-3 responds i received in my discussions. I've never been collector of responses, just i wait until some new, nice and original comment comes in my mind. Some of the people who respond me are the same, all the time, i mean same nicknames. So during the time i got personal attention for everyone of them. I have good memory and i often remember stories, shared experience, examples (from personal life) which my friends here share with me, so i have something personal to say to each (based on past participation with them somewhere). But as you said, sometimes my brain blocks. I read, i understand their responds, but don't have what to say so my comment after them to fit to their respond. I wait few hours and come back!

Hello Suggar, Usually what distract me is surfing other sites or other post that i tend to loose my concentration on posting. so, now even though am distracted to other post, i just concentrate on one discussion to the other.. i just wonder why the people will less post doesn't respond much to our discussions, i still find it so weird anyways, have a nice day.

Hey LetranKnights25, when you are starting any discussion, it is up to you to decide whether to comment or not. Likewise when we come to a discussion it is up to us to decide whether to respond or not. The simple reason is this, once we get to the discussion, regardless of who started it,it became "MY LOT". since it is MY LOT, it is up to us to post or not. No worries, we are all here to share and to enjoy each other's company. The last thing you want is to be stressed out by a Fun system. We are all here for you and with you. And to be fair, your discussion post and my reply aren't exactly short, so no...no...we are ALL NOT LAZY. Cheers. Ok friend?

Hello Tiffnkeat, So far, I've been really missing the moments where i can and really respond to all of my friends topics.but i seemed to have been left behind, for now am doing my best to catch up the times and do the best i could to respond. before i even copy past their discussion links to respond to later on. maybe next few hours from now would suffice thanks a lot.

I always try to respond to people who've bothered to comment on my posts, but I get so tired, it sometimes takes me a couple of days and I think they've stopped reading by that point! I have fibro and chronic fatigue, so I duck in and out of Mylot a lot. I'd like to be more active, but sometimes I even go a couple of weeks without checking in and when I do, I probably read more posts than I get round to responding to. You get out what you put in though. I should try to be more active.

Hello Zandi, thanks a lot. well, am glad there is no time limit here but most of the time i felt that i am limited to do mylotting. i have discussions that lacks replying but probably because i was kinda wrong suggestion on that discussion

I only respond to discussions if it's something I can contribute too and is interesting. If I have nothing to say or don't relate to a topic I won't bother reading/responding. It depends on how ur brain works and whether u relate to the topic or not. I don't post many discussions but when I do I don't expect responses right away. I mostly just post them for my viewing and if others wanna respond they can I'm not stoping them and if they respond to me then I'll respond to one of their discussions as well, it's only fair. So you shouldnt worry that your not responding quick enough we all have a life outside of mylot and we are just here for something fun to do. No worries. Happy mylotting!

Hello Blondie, Well, for me it's simple if i can relate i can respond or comment, If not i don't bother.maybe i should start responding to those who "respond" to me, that way it would be easy to see who are the ones I owe a respond or comment to it's fun communicating with other people and i like so much

Letran- I don't expect anyone to comment back in moments of me posting a response. I do however hope that they will comment in good time so we can have a conversation. However, I understand that we all have lives outside of Mylot and I not to take it personally if someone cannot respond or does not respond. It is not a slight against me or anyone else, it simply is the way it is where discussions are concerned. Namaste-Anora

I don't start all that many discussions, but when I do, I am notified, and will comment back as soon as I can. Sometimes it is immediately, and sometimes not. It just depends on what I am doing that day, if I will get back to them or not. I do realize that it is only by commenting back that my discussion will stay alive. If those that start discussions, don't want to comment back, then it is on them. I liketo keep my discussions as alive for as long as I can, but sometimes they don't last all that long, but I sitll comment back and do my best. I think that sometimes, it becomes very hard for others to comment back as they are doing ohter things and just can't get to them right away, and we all need to understand that, but then there are some that won't comment back at any time, as I have responded to discussions like that, but at least I get paid fro my response, and if they choose not to comment back, then they just don't earn, that is all. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Hello RoseKiss, Well, depends if the discussion is good, even if the starter doesn't comment back i don't care. but there are times when i feel that a response that i make is so important to that user that she or he couldn't careless that i ended up being upset or irritated but not to the point of saying it out loud and badly to that user. for now, I am commenting and nice to you see around. have a nice day.

No problem Letran most of regular responders to your discussions know that you are either way busy off-line and or will eventually get to it. There is life beyond myLot and we certainly understand, so not a problem at all as we know you are not one of those who simply places comments as you are a very personal person and very much appreciated and respected within the myLot community.

Hello Hardworkinggurl, I agree, life is beyond mylot that every single year, i see a lot of new generation users. only the likes of lamby, dawn, zandi, rberon, neil and the others that i have seen lately are the ones who remained. of course, it's nice to have you around and hoping that you will stay here in the more years to come

That's okay knight, think that's understandable besides nobody is obliged to do so. I've read your other posts, beginning with that accident thing, then your Mom, then the building construction in your house, I can very well understand if a man is busy. BTW I am not expecting you to comment on this one LOL

Hello Louie, Well, not that busy yet since the permit and other documentation is still being processed. once done, and construction is set to go then i won't be much here to be online. as for my nephews accident, he's completely fine now since january. no, am not that busy comparing what's gonna happen afew months from now.

I no longer comment on my discussions either. It just takes too much time. But I do appreciate those who drop by my discussions and comment. I only hope that those who do make comments on my discussions won't think that I am ignoring their posts. Its just not my habit to do so.

Hello Anne25, Yeah, it's just not that much energy anymore, most specially if you have work. I, for one understand why you couldn't comment on them that much which is very reasonable indeed. don't worry I understand and I hope if you have time just post here, besides, if i have work, there's no way i will have time to lot

there are many reasons why i just don't comment to some discussions or to my own posst. one of which is that i got lazy too or i ran out of words about that topic. there are posts that are just hard for me to comment. i can't find right words to share and i don't just like to comment because i was obliged to. i am after quality comments and if i do i am hoping that it helps.
• Philippines
5 Feb 11
Hello flagella, Why does that happen? in some point in time we have run out of words to say when our brain process a lot of information to make us say something. well, i don't want to be oblige knowing that i don't have something to say or at least something productive and nice to say. sometimes what I say, people will take notice of it or not

Exactly the point , Knight. But, I feel guilty because I am too lazy to comment to the responses of my respondents but still, I can post a reply to others started discussion. I wanted so much to finish what I have started but after responding to two or three, I do not have the energy to comment any further to the next respondent. It must be because my posts lately are emotionally stressful (again!) and I, reading them over and over, am feeling drained. But, i'll make it up to them, though, little by little. :)

Hello Eurekafemme, Well, there's nothing that others would do if you don't comment or not. basically, every one has their hyper time to post when ever they wanted to. and it is something that i have lacked now even though i have much time to be in mylot, i have little time to be in the spot of making more post than i used to be.like you, am also bringing it back little by little.

Hello GLoryacam, Yes, you're right. but unfortunately, I am still feeling lazy today but i need to force myself sometimes to comment since i don't sleep late that much at nightyeah, the points are important and it's useless when youre not earning much that you spent on your internet use.
