I have been starting to post knives and stuff on E bay. Earlier tonight i got a little crazy and went ahead and bought an Xbox 360 for $93.oo(107.00 with shipping) . It came with: console ,power cords,av cables,2 wireless controllers, and 2 video games,No Hard drive(Arcade Version does not have one) I had noticed that some that were not as nice as this getting battled all the way up to the $150.00 range. So I figure i can make a good amount of money on it. I am wondering if any of you could tell me if this is a good way to do it on ebay. What items should i look in top getting that will turn easily. Have you done this to? What item did you find and was able to resale for the profit??? How easy was the process?? Do you do it often and do you make any money from it???

I have been selling on ebay off and on for about 8 years, and I will be honest with you; it takes a lot of time and for me it has ended up not to be worth it. Most, I am sure will disagree with me on that. However, a lot depends on the item you are trying to sell. In my years I have come to realize; 1. Electronics and Movies sells best 2. An item that that is the same so you don't' have to do a new write up of description is the most simple thing to do , it saves you a lot of time. 3. I would say collectibles ( which is what I sell sometimes ) but those are a hit and miss, but when it "hits", it's good. It's pure luck to come across such a item. Don't get me wrong, I love ebay, but for me personally it is too undependable. Sometimes it's great, I make good money, other times it is not and I loose money. For the past 3 yrs I have been selling vintage jewelry as well as any vintage item that I pick up in lots at a local auction. I would love to come across a good selling product that I could depend on. I have never bought anything on ebay to resell it, so I don't know how well that works. I also pick up a lot of items at garage and estate sales. I am currently trying to decide if I want to keep selling, as I have a room full of vintage items that needs to be sold, but the thought of being at the keyboard all day typing up description just does not make me happy. Oh yeah, baby name brand clothes sells very good ( as long as in good condition ) and I have also had some luck with plus size clothes. Hope that helps you, let me know how it goes.

I personally have not sold knifes but I have noticed them getting alot of views and bids if the knives are of good quality. I know at the local auction I go to, they tend to go quick and for a high price. The men would buy them up to resell. As far as the amount I have made, it is scattered that I stopped keeping up with it. But, I think the last time I looked I had made nearly 2000.00 and that was over a period of 4 yrs. So to me that is not worth it, not with the time I put into it. Another thing I thought about when buying to resell is I remember reading that you need two different ebay accounts, because you do not want the bidders to see what you have bought, and what you paid for it. There are particular times of the season that I do well and my main time is of course at Christmas. I will start putting auctions up around Oct. and run through the first of Jan. ( when sales got really slow ) I truly believe it is different for every person and you have to find out what works for you. Something else I do that seems to make a difference is doing themed pieces. For example, if I decide to start my auctions back up then I would start with a spring collection of jewelry and Easter pieces, then into summer shell jewelry.

I actually think I have found a niche in the system. Video game consoles seen to be the way to go. I have ordered several video game consoles, most of which are already sold at good profit before they even get here to just people I know. I think your right I probably will not do alot of ebay on the selling end of this, but with what I have been paying I will definitely do the buying.

I kind of gave up on eBay selling because I feel eBay fees eating up my money. I still buy from eBay, but not for awhile. I haven't bought or sold on eBay for awhile.
