Rose Tattoo were a popular hard blues rock band who were popular here in Australia the 70's and 80's. They were a rough lot, but they put out some great songs. I never saw them perform live, but I wish I had! They still reform every now and then, but the lead singer, Angry Anderson, is the only one of the original members that is still alive. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_Tattoo They had some European success but I am not really sure just how well known they are outside of Australia. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyDjNIxnR0g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wL4DSLd3KZU Do you remember Rose Tattoo? Do you like the band?

I absolutely LOVE Rose Tattoo! I remember Angry Anderson, he's awesome! Thanks for the links. Don't forget INXS..the only line-up that matters, the one with Michael Hutchence in it. My, I had a crush on him!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwzyeBxXDzg I've got this on video somewhere as some of this gig was shown on telly before our own Live Aid kicked off in 1985. I was smitten and I've also got the album (vinyl of course) right here in Carlisle.

I could never forget INXS. They were one of Australia's biggest exports, I do know that, but I wanted to share a couple here that were not so mainstream or well known. I liked INXS a little in the early 80's, but then lost interest. They were a bit soft for my liking and I thought Michael Hutchence was a bit gay! A bit of a pretty boy compared to Angry isn't he! I used to have that album on vinyl too. But it got sold along with the rest of them in the 90's! What an idiot I was. I had some rare ones too!

"Listen Like Thieves" is one of my prized possessions and I reckon Hutchence was one of the sexiest frontmen ever, so there lol. Only he could get away with THOSE shirts! Sadly missed.

i remember Rose Tattoo very well - they were a great band! I also remember in the late 80's or early 90's when Angry released a cd or 2 on his own without Rose Tattoo.

Yep, Angry Anderson was the lead singer vonmac and only original member left. He has had a few solo albums and a massive hit with "Suddenly"! It was featured as the wedding song for Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan's wedding in Neighbours in the 80's! Ahhh, memories!

I had forgotten the names of their characters. I used to watch the show around that time and remember the wedding too. I have been to "Ramsay Street" in Melbourne. It was funny, but as it was a long time after I had seen the show, the houses only looked vaguely familiar.

hi rawbill while I dug some of the lyrics too heavy metal for my poor ears. I had heard of them and all my friends who are into heavy metal and have better eardrums love them, I guess they are popular although until a friend mentioned them I had had no experience,'I got a charge out of the stance of that one singer. wow.

Kiss were big when I was a child, but I never really liked them. I think that their sound was a little too manufactured. Not quite 'raw' enough for my liking at the time or now either.
