Where do you Search for God????

People look for God through holy books. They are taught about God from their parents. They are sometimes influenced by others to join or change religions. If things don't fit in their religion, some search other religions to see which feels right. Atheists see religion and can only conclude God does not exist based on religion's view of God. What do all these things have in common?? They are all trying to understand God through someone else. People depend on others to supply answers. If they don't like the answers, they demand proof claiming nothing is true. Doesn't all this seem strange to you?? It's strange to me. Sure, we learn lots of information from others. A lot of it is true, however much is not. Is it right to get our entire view of God solely from others?? I THINK NOT!! The greatest learning comes from discovery. We must be brave enough to venture beyond our comfort zones into undiscovered country. I suggest that you stop trying to understand God through the views of others. Isn't it time you discovered God on your own?? For atheists, I can see why you don't think God exists based on religion's view. Does that really mean that God could not possible exist?? I THINK NOT!! Only our Ego would assume mankind is the most intelligent being in the universe. Perhaps, it's time to take another look for yourself. We are all children of God. We are capable of doing remarkable things. We can stand on our own two feet if we will!!

My openion on god is, "God is universal, that is a power, that is unique". But i am a hindu religion. In hindu religion there are 33lakhs of gods are there. But the main three gods are Eshwar, Vishnu, Brahma. But here in india "we have many religions, living together....". Unity is important, true feelings on a friend, we can found the god in every friend.

Since we are all God's children, God can be seen in each of us. Yes, even though religion does not really understand God, there is a bit of God in each of them. They would understand God more if they did all unite. Of course, religion is the catalyst which brings so many of mankind's problems to the surface so they can be dealt with. Unification will not happen for this reason. God created the world so that His children could figure it all out. Look around you. All the secrets of the universe stare us in the face. When you start to understand the why and how, you start to understand the true intellect of God. God is much different than religion understands. If one only depends on religion or others for their view of God, they will never really understand God. One must discover God.

God is definitely there. It doesn't have to be a belief. Discover.

my take on this is that we are all "gods" in our own right - created into His "image and likeness." - i believe that there is no right or wrong religion for "religion" really means 'your way of life.' the best religion is the one that brings you closer to your "god;" gives you that inner happiness and peace and makes you into a better person.

Yes, learning in life brings us all closer to God regardless of which religion one belongs to or even if you belong to no religion. There are many many lessons to be learned around religion. Most have very little to do with God. The stepping stones to discovery are all around us. One only must reach.

I have read the holy books of many religions and many commentaries on them only to come to the realization that I won't find a god hiding there. Other's words can not supply answers to what in the end must be a voyage inward into your own mind. I have reached the conclusion that there is no single entity that is some kind of father figure we can address for aid and guidance. The whole idea of a god that is an analog of humanity represents the earliest days of religion when it was a tool to understand and have some control over what was otherwise beyond understanding and control. What is god? The term god is a metaphor for some basic elemental force that is, most likely so far beyond human understanding that we are left with empty words and a mythology when we try to explain that thing called god.

So much of what you say is true, however God does exist. Religion does not understand God. They have filled in the missing knowledge with their own beliefs then passed those beliefs down through the generations. Many, for one reason or another can see nothing else. How sad. As far as God being one who aids and guides, most all of that is being done around everything. God isn't about taking all our problems away. That would defeat God's true purpose for this world. As far as God being highly intelligent, I cry that. We are but mere ants, however we are meant to learn and grow then understand a little at a time. It helps to have a hunger for knowledge with a need to understand. This will be the driving force which will lead us to venture into undiscovered country to discover on our own. The adventure continues!!

I think you look for God in the quiet moments of your soul, in nature, reflected in your neighbor, whether you like the thought or not. If you remember that we are all animated by the beginning breath of God, then that means we ARE all doing God's will, even at those moments when we are being mean or unkind. We are the hands of God in the world.

Indeed, you are right, however there is another side I point for people to explore, the Intellect of God. It is the other side of mere feelings. There is more depth to discover. It is a part of understanding.

All the secrets of the universe stare us in the face. We must expand our view beyond the surface. There is high intelligence behind it all. That's why so few really understand God. God works on multiple levels with multiple views. Start by figuring out what this world is all about. Discovery brings new ideas and direction to learn. God can be found. One must understand if one is not to be just confused by the experience. Discovery your way to understanding. Look around you. All the secrets of the universe stare you in the face.

God is present in each one of us. Therefore, we should respect and love one another. If one does otherwise, it is an act of disobedience and disrespect against God. Furthermore, everything around us are manifestations of God's love and mercy.
