YEs we've learned and practiced our japanese for weeks and months...and after that what? After long periods of not being able to speak the language, write in hiragana, katakana...how do you manage to still keep your japanese skills? ANy tips as it had been a long time since I practiced my Japanese I'm afraid I am almost losing it..haha!

I think it helps to always submerge yourself in the language you are learning. That works in English too. Always watch Japanese shows, read Japanese magazines or books, and talk to your Japanese friends often. Just join a social networking site for Japanese lovers and you'll find Japanese people there too.

if you want to refresh your skill try watching Japanese movie or anime see if you can still remember the words you've studied

I watch anime to be able to practice my listening skills. I may have to brush up with my old textbooks though to keep up with the reading part of it.
