Here's what I did to enjoy life this weekend!

I must admit that I had some work for school due so I have worked on and off on that BUT I did manage to do some stuff that I really enjoyed. First, I have to say that although I got up very early on Saturday, I went back to bed and slept until late afternoon! Are you believing it? I slept! Then I got up and took a shower and dressed up in the new boots I got for Christmas which I have not been able to wear until now..and went out with my b/f. We went to a Best Buy store and just wondered around after we found that the music store next door was closing and then we went to out to eat at the Texas Roadhouse. Oh..it was sooo good. After that, we came home, had a glass of wine and went to bed...lol...more sleep. Today, I am still in my pajamas and I do not plan to change out of them. Me and the girls and the man are going to settle in with a huge spread of Super Bowl snacks and watch the game. Maybe a movie before that. My little Eva has barely left my lap and I have snuggled with her almost the whole time...she is a wonderful napper. But it's went by soo fast. Too fast. Have you ever had time go by so fast that you wondered where it all went?

Brava! I'm so proud of you! A mini Stay-cation! I'm so happy for you. When I was younger my happy moments seemed to whiz by but now, they go by at the right pace. Not too fast or slow. Well enjoy the rest of your day.

Thanks! When I was younger it used to seem like the times was dragging and then suddenly I blinked my eyes and it had been years. I hope that this is the beginning of a good habit. Taking some time off. Enjoy the game and thanks for responding.

I have spent a little time working on school work this weekend, but I spent more time sleeping and surfing the net. Yesterday, and again today, I walked over to the convenience store and bought a soft drink. That may not sound like much, but since I was holed up in a motel room since about 10 days ago, it is not bad. I was not able to go out earlier in the week because of the snow and I didn't want to risk opening up my surgical wound by falling on the ice that I'm sure was there. I have been sleeping in a lot and I hope that I don't do so tomorrow because I have a doctor's appointment at 10:15. I really hope it warms up soon because I need to start getting out and walking outside so that I can really get my strength up. It sounds like you have had a great weekend. I hope you enjoy the game. I am so out of it that I didn't even know when it was. Have a great day!

It's cold here too but as for the moment...there is no more ice or snow. That may not last long as there is a front of something expected through this week. I hope you are able to get out and about soon. You better get some rest though if that wound has not healed yet. Thanks for the response.

Actually, I was looking at the wound and most of the steristrips they put on after removing the staples have fallen off. I am just waiting for the surgery team to tell me that I can return to normal activity. Right now I can't lift over 10 lbs. I spend most of my time resting and I really need to move around more. I need to get my strength up in order to be in good enough shape to get through chemo without any problems. Thanks for responding to me.

Best wishes for you. I do hope that everything goes well with you chemo and that your wound heals well. Don't over do it though. We sometimes want to be better than our bodies are ready to be.

Sounds like you had a nice weekend. Sleep is mostly what I did. Have been in a weird cycle lately. I have had times when hours were like minutes. Like when I get really interested in my work and get really into the research and didn't phases. I look and see that about four hours have gone by and it didn't seem like more than one. It is weird when that happens.

I think it has to do with the difference between something we are giving ourselves and something we are giving someone else(your company). Glad you had some time though.

It is weird how it does that. My working time drags and then my time off flys..lol...even my breaks at work seem to go faster than the real time at work itself..

Last week, I was on leave. I had a lot of things on the card. I had planned everyday beforehand and was just waiting for the week to come. But when it did come, you wouldn't believe, how I slept through it! I hibernated and in between woke up to eat and take shower and then again went off to bed while watching a movie. Now, it seems unbelievable but I just did that! Yes, holidays go past so fast. Enjoy the best out of it. And Eva sounds so like my little niece. Hugs to her.

I forgot all about the super bowl as i intended to watch it but got to my lotting and my son called and said he couldn't come today but would see me tomorrow so thats good.time seems to fly esp cially when you have an appt with a doctor whom you have never even met before lol. now when I got in the patients room it seemed hours before the new person came to see me and listen to my complaints lol.

Wow, Jen! I'm sooooooooooooo happy that you've been able to RELAX and enjoy the weekend! Everyone needs them from time to time, especially those like you who are juggling a career and a family. That's harder than it looks! I was there once, I know! Time always flies by when you're enjoying yourself. It looks like you don't get to enjoy it enough to realize that and that's a real shame. You really should try to get at least one weekend a month like you just had, if only for your sanity! I had a pretty nice weekend myself, although it doesn't compare to yours! My son was visiting here from Maryland for the weekend. I really enjoyed him being here and we did a lot together. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get outside for any length of time because the weather sucked. I'm itching to play in the dirt again (gardening, that is ) but there is still snow all over the place plus it was raining and miserable on Saturday. Still, we enjoyed our time together, then I took him home today, just in time to TRY to keep my husband's mind off his pending surgery tomorrow morning. He's having lumbar spine surgery to fix two bulging discs that have been causing him a lot of pain in his hips and legs. That's not what I'm worried about, though. I know the surgeon is exceptionally competent... he did my cervical spine surgery. What worries me is how I'll handle my husband once he's back home (this is outpatient surgery... can you believe that???). He's SUCH a hypochondriac!!! I know I'm going to hear weeks of whining. Oh, well. I can probably tune him right out; I'm a mother. As a mother, we learn to tune certain noises out, don't we?

Hi JenInTN, That is quite a great day for you For me nothing of this sort happening in the recent past but yes, the three days when my niece was here (before Christmas), the time did have wings and it flew faster than it had in recent months. This niece was on MyLot too (I had posted a discussion on her - she and I had never met and she had always thought I was a 3 year old baby whom she could play with). I and she did play a lot of games and I really had a great time

Hi, that's an awesome weekend you had. On weekdays I live in an apartment near work so I really don't see my family. So on weekend I go back to them and we bond. But still it's a very short time because I can't see my other friends. It's just really a few days. Two days is very very short.

Oh, you are having a wonderful time ! That's good for you. Relax and enjoy when you have the chance. Sounds like you have an excellent plan coming up too. This weekend is not too bad here for me too. The snow has stopped for the time being, giving a chance to go out and enjoy a bit of sunshine. I am going out to the countryside and enjoy a refreshing environment.

That is great that you had a nice relaxing weekend. After we went to the beach Friday afternoon and Saturday as well, Sunday morning was spent doing work and then Sunday afternoon we were all pretty tired so we lay down and watched a family movie which was great. Then I watched some cricket on TV and a documentary and had a fairly early night. I woke up early at 4.30am this morning full of energy and ready to take on the week! But the weekend still went quick as it always seems to! I think the Superbowl is just about to start?? If I am correct, it usually is on about 10.00am Monday morning here which it is nearly now. I might have to try and watch it online somewhere.

I hate when time goes by so fast that you wonder where it all went!!! It reminds me of my junior prom in High School! I had such an amazing day just relaxing and then before I know it I'm sitting down to dinner with my parents and I look at the clock and go "holy cow!!! Its time to get ready!" so I rushed upstairs and got in the shower and changed my clothes, and before I knew it I was dancing my little heart out at the dance... Then came after prom! But before that I was driving around waiting for it to start and I drove past a house that was ON FIRE!!! I started freaking and could barely dial the phone! i was scared but before I dialed the fire trucks arrived to save the day... Luckily noone was injured in the blaze but the rest of my night was soo much fun. I partied at after prom and then the hypnotist came and we laughed our heads off at our hypnotized classmates but then before I knew it the night was over and nothing but a memory.
