FIBROIDS or MYOMAS

It started when I decided to consult a Gynecologist and undergone check ups since me and my husband wondered why in our almost two years of marriage, I won't get pregnant. When I was diagnosed thru transvi ultrasound, the result of the TVS is that I have nine uterine fibroids (myomas) located in my uterus. My Gynecologist said that it would be hard for me to get pregnant because of this. I'm very sad during that time because I am already 35 years old and at my age, I'm really aspiring to have a baby. Besides, my Gyne said that there are no best ways to get rid of these not unless I reached my menopausal age since myomas are developed because of too much estrogen in my body and when after menopause would have uterine fibroids (myomas) shrivel up and disappear. My Gynecologist said Estrogen, in other words, is the food of my myomas, but we need estrogen because it is an essential part of a woman's reproductive process and it also regulates the menstrual cycle and prepares the uterus for pregnancy that's why woman have monthly periods. I'm also worried because there would be a tendency that my stomach will get bigger and bigger when my myomas increase in size and number. My Gynecologist suggested a surgery called Hysterectomy which is a process to remove my uterus and there would be no more myomas even in the future. But she never insisted on this since I don't have a baby yet and if I will go Hysterectomy, I won't get pregnant anymore because my uterus will be removed. My husband and I find a hard time to this because we really wanted to have babies as what other couples also want.My Gyne advice that we just let the myomas in my uterus until I get pregnant and will just have regular check up and TVS to monitor the sizes and number of my myomas. We pray and hope that these myomas will disappear and until a year after, God answered our prayers, I got pregnant. It was really a surprised to us because we almost lost hope and we never expected. It made us realized that God is really good, and always there to answer our prayers and we will just wait because He only knows whats best for us, in His Perfect time. For now, my baby is already 10 months old and I have never gone for check ups yet just to know if my myomas are still there 'coz some says that it will be carried away when giving birth. Anyway, I just hope that these myomas disappeared because I did not suffer dysmenorrhea and longer periods any more as symptoms of having uterine fibroid. Anyone there who have same experience, please share...
