Is anyone else here a scrapbook consultant?

There are several scrapbooking supply companies to work for as a consultant. I just recently joined the forces. I was just wondering if there was anyone else here at the lot that are consultants. How did you get started? Do you keep it at the simple sales level or do you attend conventions, crops and scrapbook retreats? How long have you been a consultant and how is your business doing?

I haven't seen you in AGES! No, not that into scrapbooking, but if I could find my photos I would like to do it again. I did one for my mother's 80th birthday.

Well I have been checking into doing this for over a year now and decided in December that I would take the chance and go for it. I am also looking into another scrapbook related job, it entails traveling, which I love to do, working at Scrapbook Conventions. Still haven't decided on that one yet. I have also started up a yahoo group for this area, hopefully will get interest in it. I would love to put on some one day crops and weekend scrapbook retreats. Ohhh its gone wayyy beyond hobby for me LOL

I recently became a consultant/demonstrator for one of the "big" companies. It is tough work, but I am enjoying it. I have run a few workshops, but prefer doing classes for a set fee--that way people can buy something if they want, without feeling obligated. I just got back from doing a card-making class with a Girl Scout troop! I haven't gone to any conventions, but do go to crops occasionally. How about you? What have your experiences been so far?
