I think there's more to it than calorie restriction - there's also carbohydrate and sugar restriction. Always go for a condiment because they have no sugar. I think the only thing without calories is water, but there are foods that have negative calories (they have calories when consumed, but result in a calorie deficit after they're digested). These include asparagus, apples, beets, garlic, dandelion, cucumber, raspberries, pinneaple, strawberries, tangerine, oranges, mango, lemon, grapefruit, cranberries, lettuce, onion, papaya, zucchini, chili peppers, green beans, radishes, celery, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, endive, turnip, spinach, and broccoli. You've probably noticed that a few food groups are missing - meat, dairy, grain. I suggest you just take out a vegan cookbook from your local library and try out a few of the recipes that seems interesting to you. Then, after you've collected numerous recipes that you really like, you go on a challenge of say..2 weeks, or 1 week where all you eat are vegan recipes. There are a ton of benefits to this: weight loss, protection against diabetes, cancer, and high cholesterol. The recipes really aren't gross, they have things like pancakes and smoothies too. If you don't want to try that, then I suggest you just make restrictions in terms of grains, meats, and dairy. It's really easy to exceed the daily recommended dose for those things.

This is very similar to what I was going to say. You can do a computer search for foods with no calories and get this answer. www.weightlossforall.com/negative-calorie-foods-list.htm

Hello babylucy! You can eat fruits and vegetables in your diet since they have very small amount of calories and also, they can give you essential vitamins and minerals which is good to your body. If you are doing exercise, it's good. You burn fats from doing exercise but if you do vigorous exercises, you must also eat a calorie foods enough to give your body energy to be able to do such activities. Limit your carbohydrate intake because it contains lots of calories. Sweet foods also contains lots of calories and it's better to take it just enough for your body needs. Hope this helps.

The eternal fight for weight loss.I know it,it is my every day fight.Tried a lot of diets. Most might work for a bit, then crash. So ,the way to handle the fight, is to eat 5-6 small meals (more feedings than meals) a day, they should always contain some protein,to keep you full longer. And a good way to figure out what to eat,try to go for 1 ingredient foods. The more ingredients on the list the worse it is. In the grocery store do the outer ailes, keep away from the center. This way you will get more fruits and veggies.Use olive oil,and forget any white food(bread, rice, pasta)If you watch all this ,you ill see a difference, and once a week allow yourself a Cheat day, when you should enjoy some of your favorites(in moderation). As for work outs,do the interval trainings,20 min.interval burn more than 45 min steady low intensity cardio, and do not forget some resistance work(weights).I hope this helps .

if i were you i would forget about sizes and calories. just adopt a good diet, a good eating plan, do some moderate exercise, and be persistent. Don't make really big efforts now just to leave it all in a month. The key leading to results is endurance.

Hi. Well, one can never go wrong with fresh fruits and vegetables. Just minimize the use of dressings if you're gonna make them into salads. Water is by far the best beverage to take if you're watching your calorie intake. Counting calories is a good way to lose weight, but try also to eat less amount of food per meal and take several of these small meals in a day instead. This is something I do to maintain my weight, and it's working :)

Hi babylucy, You got many great responses. You want to lose the weight slowly. You didnt gain it all over night. Losing to fast can cause all sorts of health problems. The only free calorie foods that I am aware of is water and then lettuce. Any dietician will tell you that you can have all you want on these 2 things. Just remember thats plain lettuce when you start adding meat, salad dressings etc. the calories now get added on. Best advice is to eat 3 healthy meals a day, when possible add 2 nutritous snacks to that. Dont worry about calorie intake. otherwise you will make yourself crazy trying to eat only 400 per meal.(and no snacks) There goes the metabolisism. That behavior will slow it down, which will cause you to gain weight which in return adds additional health problems. So eat healthy plenty of servings of vegetables, stay away from the caffiene, coffee, soft drinks as you have, keep exercising. You'll get there :).

There are several fruits and vegetables that occur naturally having calories when consumed, actually result in negative calories to the body after digestion. It is due to these foods cause the body to extend more calories to digest them than they have their nutritional content that became zero calorie food.. Examples:Apple, mango, cauliflower, carrot, onion ,papaya etc..

Hmmmmm,no food to my knowledge have no calories. All food has calories of some kind unless it's water.I'd just tell you to eat something that'll fill you up,but is healthy. You are going to get a bunch of calories from potato products and sugars,so take out all those chips you have and all of those cookies. Many fruits and vegetables have so few calories that you probably burn more just chewing and digesting them than in consuming them.

I heard about these foods which burn more calories than they have... so i searched them up :) I found: apples, apricots, berries, grapes, grapefruit, kiwi, oranges, strawberries, tangerine, watermelon, asparagus, beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, celery, cauliflour, cucumbers, hot chilli peppers, lettuce, spinach, sweet potatoes, tomatoes and zucchini. Ooooh looks like I'll be eating some more of these magical foods... :)
