it's been months now, and it is only weeks before the final defense will come. i am still not finish with my preliminary paper and with my work as well. am i to beat and meet the deadline? well, i can say that i am not that type to really work before hand. but the irony is that, all the while i am teaching others to meet and pass on time. so that they will have no problems later. however, i think i need to teach that to myself also. beating and meeting the deadline for me is just hard as solving math problems (in my case). as of now, all i am saying to myself is "i believe" even singing with it through the lyrics of fantasia (the lady from american idol). will i meet and beat the deadline? huhu.. will you?..

Hi, jingbautista . I have the same problem as you do .Even though i know the importance of finish work in advance ,i just can't help it with waiting to complish the work untill the last minute .Anyway ,it is really a bad habit .Even some kids are better than us in terms of self-decipline .And i consider it as an obstacle in the way to success .So i decide to get rid of the problem .Let's do it together ,what do you say ?

sure why not captain. i wonder from where you are right now. if you could be here, let us do it together! welcome on the same boat my friend. together let us paddle the paddle and continue to move forward no matter what happens. along the way, we may fail and encounter failures of all sort. but let us not be discourage and focus our eyes on what lies and awaits us when we get there. come on over here!,.. hehe..

I try my best not to cram everything (assignment and project) on one day. I usually do it when the teacher assigns it to finish it early and meet the deadline. It really helps and it's not goo to rush things and yes, it avoids lots of problems. My parents taught me that..

My teachers are very fond of saying, "A deadline is a deadline is a DEADLINE!". As is... you meet it or you fail. The reason they do this is because they also want is to succeed in the job industry we've chosen, and should we get into the habit on falling short on the deadlines now... then we're just going to get fired in the future. So I always get my work done on time, and as early as possible. You should do the same. Not everyone is as forgiving with their deadlines as some teachers are.

I am not studying anymore, so I will tell you what about my general feelings about this. I do beat the deadline where there is a reward for it. The reward may be in any form. Even encouragement, acknowledgement or appreciation can be considered as rewards. Material reward is also good but reputation is even better than that. But there has to be some kind of reward. Otherwise, I have no wish to beat the deadline. Then I will just meet it and better not to try hard to beat it. However, every single person wishes if he could beat the deadline and show others how capable he is. It's just that without any form of reward this motivation isn't drawn out.

as of now, the reward that is waiting whenever i am to beat the deadline is my graduation day! that i would be able to march together with my students and close friends. and that the expectations and all the support that my family was and is giving me will be paid off. as of now, huhu, i am trying really hard to beat the deadline. thus, drinking energy drinks and doing somethings that would not make me feel sleepy. i just hoped and wished to really beat the deadline though.. thanks much..

Actually, i have face same situation at the time of my exam. And i got succeeded, so i can say that i did meet and beat the deadline. I was kind of person that would study only some days before my exam being started. But i never failed and you can say that i have beaten the deadline.

good for you then. but for me, i don't know what the future holds. it is a matter of hit and miss for me now. trying to do the best as i can. but time holds no favoritism. it continues whether we continue also or stopped. we are in bad shape if we stop.. hahai..

I'm the kind of person who really wants to beat the deadline but oftentimes I found it meeting the deadline. I don't know why but there are times where I was able to finish a project or task faster when I know that the deadline is drawing near. Yes it's frustrating as you have to rush your work plus you do not have enough time to double check it. So this serves as a lesson for me and every time I have something to do now I try as much as I could to already start working on it. I feel much assured about my job if I have finished it before the given due time.

yeah you are certainly right. but as for me, it is really a case to case scenario though. we can't assure things out. well, there are times that it is really our fault why we fail in dealing with the deadline. but when you have job, and the job is pressuring you about time, then it is another case. there are times when 24 hours is not enough, that you have to do some 25 hours or even more for work. as for me, i need to double the time now. i wished i could go back to those wasted times. ,sigh?

Personally I think this can be one of the hardest things for anyone. You often try to teach and tell others what they need to do, and how to do something, and then when it comes to yourself you are the one who really has an issue and find yourself having to do everything last minute as well. For me, I would say it often depends on the assignment at hand, and what the situation really is leading up to it. A lot of times I do try and plan ahead and get it done early, and then other times it becomes beyond my control as well. Personally this is just the way with life, and it is often up to us how we can motivate ourselves with each project from here.

Practice what you preach my friend.lol. I think that it would be better to have things in hand before its really needed. I think that this helps since it gives you the time to double check on things. Having to stand in front of people and not be ready would be a lot of stress for me so I try be prepared before hand.

hehe. a slap in the face. but thanks. i think i really have to practice it though. but sometimes, or oftentimes, the situation we are facing to is really different. as for me, i am facing something so big that if things would not go as i desire it to be, then i need a leaning shoulder to lean on then. hahai.. thanks for sharing.. need to prepare now..

Some things just don't work out no matter how we want to be. Maybe we just have to let them be. Hey, we can't have everything we want right? Yeah. We need those people who would be with us on those tough times. It just feels right that someone would say that it will be alright when everything seems so wrong. Take care man.
