Why we can not often see, hear or speak?

A blind can not see, a deaf can not hear a dumb can not speak. But we the people having neither of the abnormalities as above often can not see, hear or speak. It is not always intentional but sometimes it is of course intentional. Is it just to avoid unnecessary involvement in any undesired or unwanted disturbance or anything else?

Yes we with all faculties can hear see and also speak. Here the role of the mind is very important.Though the eyes see yet it the mind that gives direction whether to notice the object or ignore. So far hearing is concerned it is the mind that directs what to remember and what to forget.Similarly speech is also controlled by the mind.In all these actions you can keep the mind off so nothing affects us personally. So all these organs by themselves cannot see or hear or speak without the aid of the mind. All the best...

It depends on situations, but generally we need to be considerate of our disable and the nedy people and help them where possible and needed. It is not good to just ignore them.

Intentional? Why would that be? If people had some kind of psychological problem maybe. There are so many didn't maladies now days. Sad. And in exchange there are also alot of new treatments for these things. Deaf, dumb and blind people are remarkable with the other senses that they can use to get through life with.

As human beings I tend to think that there are a lot of times that we will turn a blind eye to a situation or a deaf ear to a situation. The reason that we tend to do this is because of the fact that there are a lot of things that we see happen in the world that we don't want to get ourselves mixed up in. It might not be the best thing that we can do, but I do think that it is a kind of coping mechanism that we have as people.

Hello DoctorDidi, I'm glad you bought up such a thing. Yes, thats right, it is often intentional that we don't hear, we don't see and we don't speak. Its basically because, we feel that it is not our problem to enter into such mishaps! We are just so ignorant to the problems others have! We don't care for such things until and unless it is our own problem. This attitude towards life should change as, something which is just a news today for us might be a matter of struggle tomorrow. We need to wake up ourselves and we need to care for the things and people around us and start helping them in any way that we can. The thing that goes comes back, you ignore and tomorrow you will be ignored. You help and tomorrow you will have so many hands to help you back! Cheers!

Well, when someone says something that doesn't interest me, I might not listen. That's because I probably have better things to think about than the boring stuff I'm supposed to be listening to. I love talking so I only stay quiet when I feel uncomfortable or worried about something. And I almost always see but sometimes don't notice. That's because my mind is elsewhere at the moment or because I'm not sure about what I'm seeing (I am myopic and also have some astigmatism. Contacts help but I'm still not very confident with my eyesight.) This pretty much covers it for me.
