Funny Valentine

My husband, God bless his cotton socks, is so bad at remembering days. He cannot remember my birthday, his parents' birthday, our anniversary, well, you get the idea. We were having a lazy Sunday at home, and while I was making something to eat for the kids, he disappeared. The kids were screaming at me 'I want Daddy, I miss Daddy'. I had no idea where he went. He came back just now with a bouquet of roses and a huge card and looking very satisfied with himself said, 'Happy Valentine's Day'. With all his faults, I do love him, dearly. Do you know anyone like him?

What a lucky lady you are! It might well be a day early but that has its positives too. You probably got the best roses of all of them because those that other Valentines receive will be a day older

Hm...didn't think of it that way. I bet you are right. And he probably might not get any tomorrow. Knowing him, he'd go out and try to buy it in the evening while most guys would have bought them all in the morning. The roses are now sitting proudly in a vase on my table.

So there you are! They are early but only because he really DID remember and wanted the BEST for you! Lucky lady!

I know. But he still has to take me out tomorrow night. On second thought, probably not. I've got a nasty cold and I'm all drippy and coughing, so I think I'll give going out a pass. On a different note, will you be in England for Christmas this year? I promised mom-in-law that I will be there (since I missed the last two). Would be nice to see you. I might pop over in summer, running away from Indian heat, but not sure about that. But Christmas is a sure thing.

I am happy for you. Well, I am in a happy relationship now, too. Happy Valentine's Day to you!

I've successfully ruined our day yesterday thanks to traffic and everything else. Don't want to talk about it anymore.

Happy Valentine's day to you too. It's good to be in a happy relationship. What are you doing for your gf today?

I am sorry to hear that. Surely there is something you can do to salvage the situation? After all, you cannot control traffic. Good luck calming down the gf.

Hi. zralte. My husband can be the same way too. He will act like, he don't be caring. Really he does. He knows how to trick and surprise me. It is just in his nature to do so. That is so sweet that your husband surprised you like he has. I am sure it made you smile when he gave you your gifts. Enjoy your Valentine's Day!!

I do think that he really thought 13th was Valentine's day. And yeah, he really does not care about that, but he does it for me.

Oh zralte, That is a great surprise and now I need to learn and master that art... I am quite difficult when it comes to forgetting but yes, I always forget some (yes only some) important dates and that makes me feel bad at times. I think that you have got a very loving hubby

ok... as I see it is a long wait and I do not have patience to wait for so long...... So have a suggestion that you can implement say after a couple of years - why not share this as a story with your hubby after say 4 years... I am sure you would have a good time remembering these loving incidents of your present life then

It is a long time. But then, I plan on telling the story every year, just so we can have a good laugh. Enjoying the V-Day?

At least I know that he still thinks I am important; important enough to buy me roses on Valentine's day (even though he's a day early). It does make a good story to tell the grandchildren (if we ever have) one day.

I think that I am like him. It is just hard to deal with numbers. This has been the reason for our arguments before. But with this weakness of mine, I am doing something with it. Every time there is a special occasion that is to be celebrated each year or even especial dates, I write them down or have an entry of it on the reminders list on my phone. That sweet to know that your husband remembered this date for you. Happy Valentine's day.

The trouble with him is, he will forget to put it in his phone!!! I've stopped trying to hint when my birthday or anniversary is coming around (his parents do that for me these days). I have to remind him about his parents', his grandmas' and his brother's birthdays. I used to tell him a week in advance, but that was too long. So now, I tell him in the morning of their respective birthday to call them.

I think that having a calendar on your door with markings on it will help. I think with this type of situations, a little effort really is needed. Hope if works for you.
