i don't know if this is healthy but i really really find it so odd. I have been skipping breakfast lately... all because of my work. I work on a hotel and was been assigned on a night shift... I go to work at 4pm and expected to arrive at home at 2am.. I sleep for about 9 to 10 hours a day and I usually wake up at 11am... and there, I've skipped breakfast because of a deep slumber.. that WAS'NT a healthy lifestyle.. agree right? but.. i really am concerned about my eating habit.. so that would mean i eat everyday 2 times only!! whoa there that's bad! I don't know but! i feel a lot of irregularities... help me mylot friends T^T huhuhu...

When you work night shift you need to schedule your eating habits around it. I worked night shift before for over 2 years (and might start to again soon). My hours were/are different then yours, I worked from 10pm until 6am, and got home around 6:30-6:40. Fortunately that allowed me to eat breakfast at a pretty normal hour, and then I would go to bed. I rarely ate lunch with that schedule because I was waking up at all different hours, depending on how I slept...I'd be awake at 3pm or 4pm or 5pm...and I didn't usually eat when I woke up. I didn't have a complete meal, when I was hungry I munched. And then at work I had my second meal of they day. If I get this job again I may do my meals a different way. But only to make it so I have three healthy meals a day. Breakfast before I go to bed, lunch when i wake up and my dinner at work. The time between the meals would be like normal, just at different times. Good luck!

so the mealtime management really works for you! but it can't be called as an "irregularity" right? as long as you eat 3 times a day it is just normal~ for my case i do not eat after i arrive at home, when i wake up usually at 11am i eat the first meal, then on my second meal it would be at 7pm, and i wonder why i dont feel hunger at 12mn or 1am, should i eat at that time? or just sleep and fall into deep slumber? it would come up to just 2 times a day only T_T... thanks for the response~ :3

Yeah if you have three meals a day it can be considered 'normal' you just have them at different times. You go 8 hours without eating anything??? How do you do that? lol. I feel hungry after 3 hours! That's why I keep a lot of healthy munchies around. You should just try to fit in three meals during your day. When do you get a 'lunch' break at work?

ooooh last week was the end of my graveyard shift, now it goes into another shift and eveyrthing goes normal! i eat 3 times a day now, but the next time i'll face graveyard shifts, i'll be preparing everything for my healthy eating and diet. ooohh graveyard shifts really is not a normal shift T^T thank you very much!

I was also skipping breakfast, cause I always wake up at 12nn. So basically I'm gonna have a "brunch" (breakfast and lunch). But I still eat 3x a day. I brunch, afternoon and dinner and a midnight snack. I also dont know if its a bad thing.

yes! that's what i am also experiencing! I think about 65% of my entire life, i've been on that situation where i usually eat at 11am-12pm and not on a 7am meal!... hmmm maybe i'll ask the doctor and physician about it =_="

maybe due to stress. Coz I sleep late I got insomnia I cant sleep before 12am. I sleep beyond 12. And this is my lifestyle for a long time, maybe my body got used to it. If you really want to have a breakfast on the right time, then change your sleeping time and be discipline. Like use an alarm to wake you up on the time you wanted and be discipline enough to force your eyes and body to stand. Even if you dont have appetite to eat breakfast, you should have one. A cereal will do and a glass of milk. Thats what I've been doing these past 2months. Its kinda effective.

Call it brunch (breakfast with lunch) rather than skipping a whole meal altogether. I skip dinner sometimes when I am so tired coming home from work. But as much as possible, I don't skip breakfast. Try to eat something light when you weak up, then eat a heavy meal after an hour or so. That's what I usually do.

My husband is worse, he only eats one time a day the dinner. He drinks lots of coffee and some candies when he is at work. I was making him breakfast + lunch + dinner everyday then he complained that he was getting fat because of that. So he doens't want breakfast and lunch anymore until now he is only eating once a day + coffee. I think it is very unhealthy...

I do this also when I go back to HK from the UK because of the jet lag. Every time I go back to HK, I will not wake up till 12 or sometimes even later. Therefore, I actually skip my breakfast and have my lunch at around 2 or 3 in the afternoon and have dinner at 8:30pm with my family as I always do. Though I do not feel hungry at tall with only two meals each day,I agree that having just two meals a day might not be good for our health but I hate waking up for just having a breakfast and go back to sleep again after that. Do you agree?

yes i agree with you, i somewhat disagree on waking up just for breakfast. it breaks my sleep XD but i think eating is a lot more important and i still choose to sleep XD that's the bad thing. maybe i am not alone on this experience =_=" thank you for the response 06MLam!~ :3

Go to work at 4 pm, and get home at 2am. Yupz, it wasn't healthy lifestyle. But If you could change your "eat-time" (dinner or luch), it would be usefull and I hope it would not disturb you work at your office. Thank you. I hope you like my advice.

i can not say it is bad, because it depends on individual's condition. for those people who dont have breadfast feeling very bad, so it is bad for them, and having breadfast is important for them. however for those people who dont have breakfast feeling well, i think it is ok, because there is no threat to your health. in a word, if you feel well without having breakfast, you can live in your way like that.

I think your lifestyle is just similar to that of call center agents, but just because you don't get to eat at 8am or earlier, doesn't mean you can't have breakfast, breakfast for you would be the first meal you eat when you wake up, in your case that would be 11am, then your lunch would be around, 3pm and your dinner around 9pm. I do believe you have breaks during your work time right? So you can still have your 3 meals a day, only the time is not the same with a regular day shift employee

yes, i do get breaks and eat meals during my breaktime~ it just seems to be that i cant feel hunger after i arrive at home. do call center agents does that habit also? where they will change their eating habit based on their work? thank you for the idea, i should be able to change my eating habit as soon as possible :3

I don't know if it's terribly unhealthy- you won't get horribly sick or anythinig if you miss breakfast. If you can adjust your meals based on your sleep schedule, then it should be okay. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner don't have to be at set times for everyone.

thank you bwaybaby~ its an accurate answer, and now im starting to believe you that "it does not have to be at set time". thank you very much!

Hi, Due to your shift work, then high chances of you to skip your breakfast, as you will sleep throughout the morning, unless, you have to wakeup to have simple breakfast, then carry on with your sleep afterwards. Eating breakfast is important, advise from my friends.I used to skip my breakfast too and always wait till lunch, then I will have my meal. But my friends advised me,every morning has to eat light breakfast,to keep myself stay beauty and healthy, from that day onwards,no matter how busy I am, I will have a simple breakfast before starting doing my things.
