Two movies in one day at the cinema

February 15, 2011 4:46am CST
Have you ever watched two films/movies in the cinema in one day? Myself and my husband have unlimited cards that allow us to see as many films as we wish in one month for a set fee and as long as we see at least two a month then it is worth having! Well on Sunday we saw two which were the 'Kings Speech' followed by 'True Grit' which were both great films! Do you enjoy going to see films/movies at the cinema?

We just watched 'Super 8' last Tuesday, and it was an OK film. We don't have anything here like your card, but we do get discounted movie prices on Tuesdays. I think it was back in university when I watched 2 movies in a theater in one day. We do get to watch to DVD's at home, in one day on lazy weekends nowadays, but the pause button is really helpful!

We are hoping to see super 8 here soon using our cards - is it just ok then? As the trailers make it look really good!

Frankly, I didn't see the trailers before we went to see the movie, I was just dragged by a friend. So, I was a bit surprised to see that it was set in the 60's. And the cheesy ending didn't help. But it's a good movie to watch in the theater. Warning: jump in your seat scenes!

We do not have anything like that in my area either. I know it would be a big hit. I love movies and that would get me seeing movies more often. I shudder at paying 9-13 dollars for a movie. 3D usually costs 12-13 dollars per ticket. I normally wait a few weeks and let it go to the 1.50 movie theatre. That theatre is not up to date and is always crowded and the seats are the old style and not comfortable at all.

Yea it's a great scheme - maybe one day they will introduce it? We don't have anything like that though where you can see it reduced if you wait so that is quite good for you to have although I supose it's not great if it's not comfortable!

I tell my kids that they can see 3 or 4 movies for the price of 1 so don't worry about having reclining seats and cup holders. lol. Thanks for the best response :)

I don't remember ever seeing two films in the same day at a regular theater. My summer job is at a movie theater now, and I want to spend as little time there as possible :P I did go to drive in theaters as a kid (we live in the south and the mid-west, there were more of them out there then) and we'd watch the first film, fall asleep, and then my parents would watch the second. I do remember waking up for part of "Wayne's World," though :P

I can imagine how if you worked there then you probably wouldn't want to be there any more than you needed to be! lol

Hello Fellow Dooyooer. I have indeed watched two films at the Cinema in one day. Orange Wednesday's are a great day to do that kind of thing.

Lol - yea imagine they are ! We try to avoid those days though as it's just so rammed out as because we have the cards it doesn't matter about having to go on Wednesdays! Lol

I've done this before,(Ihough I don't have an unlimited pass as there's hardly 2 shows in a Month I'd usually want to see,let alone 2 in a day!)but it was only that one time when I managed to have the day off work,I had nothing better to do,and 2 movies I felt like going to see happened to have consecutive showings in my local multiscreen cinema..unfortunately,for some reason in recent years they've now stopped doing late shows at the weekends,so the 9pm showing would be the last and they'd usually be closed by 11 or 12,instead of having the 11pm showing as before..I remember When I lived near the cinema and had a late shift at work,I was sometimes able to finish work and make it in to a late show afterwards!

We just found we were always going so made sense to save money by having the unlimited pass!

That is really cool! We don't have anything like that, but I bet a lot of people would be interested in a movie card like that. Me, I'm lucky if I see 2 movies a year let alone 2 movies on the same day!

I am suprised it is not something available in the USA - it is such a good scheme and why we do it is because it is a way for us to have a night out without lots of cost at least once a week then! : )
