been watching american idol and it seems this season is of the most talent, that is, imho. got many contestants to root for now, especially the one who played the cello. the guy's been quite interesting since he's played with his instrument (don't know what it is) on his first audition. james durbin is also an excellent one. he really got some range. though some say the judging panel has not been very interesting with simon out, and with jennifer and steven's addition. although i personally idolize steven very much. =)

The season has been interesting without Simon and I don't know if anyone feels that the judging for this year is kind of lenient compared if Simon could have been there. Anyhow, I love it that way and it seems that we have a great talented batch this year and the changes they made about the age range is kind of worth it as there had been amazing talents they have discovered at 15!I'm just so excited for the top24 to perform, lots of contestants are very interesting and I have at least 3 or 4 favorites for this year. I like James Durbin too, he's like a straight Adam Lambert, I just hope that he does enough to control his voice when screaming or just do not scream the song too often.

yeah, james durbin's like adam lambert, but i think he's a better performer because if you would check out the past performances of adam lambert, there are quite a number of pitchy songs where the judges didn't seem to care about as he's too over-rated, especially by idol fans. i think he would be a better artist than adam after this season's competition. that's just in my own opinion, but i know many would disagree with this. i was once an adam lambert fan, but i don't know, maybe i did expect a lot more from him. but among the talents this season, i'd surely go for jacob, casey, and paul. based on talent, i think the girls seem to be inferior than the guys. and considering that it's the top 24, i think some other girl should've been in the spot of tatanysia.. not quite good for me..

Hi jstrjnjimenez, I love American Idol too and I agree with you that this season has the best talents by far. Yes, I like the guy with the cello, he's interesting and I hope to see more of him. But my favorites are Thia Megia, the 15 year old girl with really great pipes, Lauren Alaina, the girl who proves that she's not only cute but can also sing (she sang "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" to Steven's delight), and the funny Carson Higgins (I like his take on the song "My Prerogative"). I hope to see all of them up to the final 12. I thought I'd miss Simon(Cowell) but after seeing the first episode, I forgot all about him coz the new judges are really interesting and even Randy Jackson shows a different side of him which I haven't seen in the past seasons. So, long live American Idol!

thia megia? is she the one with the filipino blood? yeah, she's a star and i hope she gets to the finals. (i'm being biased knowing she's a fellow countrywoman, =)) that carson higgins is one of my favorites. he got surprising fills to every song he sings. i hope the talents in this year's AI don't mess up with their song choices, cause that's one of the main factors why some great contestants don't make it through. but so far, they've been giving all their best, especially jacob (black guy with great voice range). cheers.

The guy with the cello is truly awesome! He has such great talents .. I don't know but I kind of have the feeling that this year's winner might be totally unpredictable. But who knows ... the guys look to have their own kind of talents too , especially those with musical instrument knowledge like playing the keyboard and guitar too. Steve Tyler's pretty cool and J.LO looks very nurturing and caring towards the contestants. That leaves Randy to give sarcastic remarks , which J.LO will give him one kind of look , haha. I think this season will give America some really great talents.

truly amazing, that cello guy. he's been quite a favorite of the judges since he's auditioned in AI and he's been giving them unexpected but great performances so far. you're right about the winner in this year being unpredictable, because in every episode, they feature different contestants that are quiet great in their own kind of way. hope it does come out that this season's winner is fan-based and should win because of being the greatest talent amongst everyone..

Well im not sure which contestant you are talking about as i only remember him when he auditioned and nothing on him since then, but the judges are great i love Steven Tyler as he is so funny and i loved when he got on stage withthe girls and sat in the chair as they all sang to him and adored him. It was really good and he is really just a funny guy when the girls come into the room and i also love how he sings with them. Jennier Lopez is really good as she wasnt so good at the begining but is good now and she is also singing with the contestants and understanding them from a personal point of view and they both are amazing. I think Randy has taken Simons spot and is getting things said that needs to be said to the contestants.

seems that you've not seen the episode from yesterday where someone actually played cello while singing, which was actually one of the highlights of the episode. steven tyler is really making the show interesting with his antics, and participation through singing with the contestants. you're right about jennifer commenting with her personal POV. still, this batch of judges are really quite easy to impress. IMHO that is.

I totally agree with you- the talent this season is so great. Each of them really sings good and is unique. I was quite sad though, since some of my favorites didn't make it to the top 24- but there were just much better singers than they were. I hope all those who made it to the top 40 continue pursuing their dreams..they're all good singers

They were stepping up Idol this season because a next season might not happen because Fox will air X-factor 2 and we cant have 2 singing contest in one channel, So their own competition is aired by the same network, They really need to find a successful talent so Idol wont be eatan alive by X-factor.

oh my. i hope idol really step it up, if that's the case. don't know what x-factor is, but never missing a single episode of AI, i really wish the show will have a couple more seasons, or stay longer. damn that x-factor. =)

I love American Idol and have been watching it since the beginning. Each year it gets better and better. I really like the addition of the new judges. It adds variety to the show.
