This morning I called my cousin from Japan. I was so happy to hear from her. She is in the military. She is married with two children, a boy and a girl. She is at least 33 now. Or soon to be. I have enjoyed talking to her. We talked about many things in life. We have had some good times together when she used to live here in the same state that I now live in. When we were around 3 and 4 years old, we were buddy playmates. There is nothing that we both did not do together We were very close. She was like a big sister to me. (Except liked the same boys). We had so much of fun together. Now we are all grown up. She told me that she is going to give me her address so that I can write her. I know that I will be sending her cards and postcards. I miss her so much, but she is so close to me while she is on Facebook. Do you have any relatives that are far away that you communicate with on a daily basis or on a every now and then basis. Please share your comments. Thanks!

Hello cream. I have quite a few cousins, but we are at a different place. We seldom have time to see each other, but we make calls to each other a few times a year though not as often. It is a good time of yours to have enjoyed talking to your cousin from Japan, especially when you were very good buddy playmates as kids. Enjoy yourself, cream.

Yup. I have a cousin whom I grew up together with. He's just one year younger than me. Although we attended different schools but we had similar circle of friends, well, at least one in particular when we were in our teens growing up. Although he had already moved to another place then but when he came back we hung out together. He has now migrated to Australia but last December he came back to Malaysia and had his wedding reception. We were all there!~

Hello cream. My girlfriend can relate even more then me, as she has relatives (cousins) in Australia, and her sister is living with her husband in England (at least I got to know her a bit better as we visited for 2 weeks in 2009's summer). I have a cousin in England, in London to be exact, but don't really talk to him (he is close to my dad's age rather then mine), but we did visited him as well when we went in England 2 years ago.

I have a couple of cousins with whom I keep in touch but not on a daily basis. These two cousins know each other but are not related. I am their only link, except for geography. They both live in or near our hometown but I live 500 miles away. My two cousins are not related to each other because one is from my mother's side of my family and the other is from my father's side. The one on my mother's side was a playmate when we were children but not a frequent one. We lived on farms which were several miles apart. The cousin from my father's side is 9 years older than I, so when we were children, I was was just another nuisance little cousin for whom she had no time. We became close after we were both adults and I was making monthly trips back to the town where she still lives to visit my mother. Although I have two dozen first cousins, these two and two others are the only ones with whom I've had much contact. I don't even know where most of th em mjight be at this time.

That's great! It is probably very comforting for her to have some contact with her family. It must be so hard to be stationed in a country so far from home. Not to mention a country whose first language is not English. I bet you blessed her day, and she will love getting cards and postcards from you.

Talking to relative in a distant land sure bring lots of joy especially when you have not been in touch of many years. I usually only send emails to my relatives overseas or chat with them in facebook.

My parents and brother and sister are half way around the world. That's because I moved my family here to where I am when the opportunity was presented. I do feel close to them because of technology. Specially when I got my smartphone which already has the facebook app in there.

Hi Cream - I can relate to you so much. Your discussion made me miss my two dearest cousins. We're all of the same age bracket - late twenties going thirties. When we were all still in College we were always together. We were living in one house because we were all studying in School far away from home. Two years after I graduated from College I moved to a different city and I now have a family of my own. However, we still talk to each other over the phone and communicate through chat and facebook. We always talk about how we miss going out together especially having coffees in our favorite coffee shop. That's one thing we have in common. We all love coffee. I miss them so. I wish I could see them this year. I've been so busy with work and family. It's the same for them. Have a nice day always.

Hi dear, You got a strong intimacy with your cousin and she is so close to you. I don't have such a person to recollect and all those who are abroad are not in regular touch and once in a while they will be down and as I am away from all these people, even if they come for a visit to the home land, I cannot meet them. But emails and phone calls make us in touch and constant contact. Hope you will get a chance to meet in person with your cousin soon. Have a nice day. Thank-s

I have relatives that live in different states that I haven't seen in forever. We communicate on Facebook. Facebook is neat getting to look at your families pictures and getting to communicate with them.
