Is there really such a thing as a free offer online? For example when I went on to Ancestry.com has a free 14 day trial and it show's after that they have monthly amounts. But,if you look below it doesn't charge you in monhly payments,it charges you a one time amount of $155.40 instead of $12.95 a month for the smallest membership. So,I was trying to put it thru, then cancel before the 14 days because I cannot afford $155.40 all at one time. And,it said that I had to give my credit card number as a security. It said that there was something wrong with the info. So,I called the office and was told that if I did not have the $155.40 in there now for them to hold,I could not have the free trial. But,they did not say they were going to charge me then. I was really disappointed Have you had problems like this?Or have you found an actual free offer?

I have given up on trying to get anything for free. If they ask for a credit card in order to get a free trial, I just close the site and go elsewhere. I don't even waste my time any more. Sorry for your disappointment.

Yes there is always the offer of free magazines. You are supposed to get one free to see if you want to subscribe to it. The catch is you have to subscribe to get the free one. That is pay for a full subscription. You maybe able to cancel before the next month mag come but I believe that the magazine publisher is counting on you forgetting to cancel.

Not just online, but I had some book program like that. Something free is too good to be true that it probably isn't. So, no I've never found anything free.

I did this a few years ago so I know that there is nothing as free as they say. There is always a catch somewhere. I never bothered to check the link when I saw free... free.. free... Scam!
