My Facebook Community do not know how to appreciate like myLotters do.....

I am a user of FB and I suppose most of mylotters do. I was happy in FB as I found connections with my elementary and high school classmates as well as relatives whom I lost contact for over 30 years. I could say that 90% of my connection in FB are my real friends and people who are known to me personally. I had one small achievement or a small success or some kind of recognition which I was so happy about. I posted it first on my FB profile to share with my community my happiness and excitement, there was only one who commented...and it was my Mom, of course! Then..... no more..it has been a week now and it is forgotten.....right after posting in FB, I posted in MyLot...in less than an hour I got responses....these are from people whom I do not know personally, mylotters who just came across my topic and know how to appreciate. It is somewhat frustrating that my real friends ignored my announcement of my happiness. But...but....but....if something non-sense is posted...it catches a lot of audience. I am very happy indeed to be a part of this community, a thinking community where minds meet though differs in opinions and point of views. Thanks to you MyLot for creating this wonderful website. Cheers to all of you!

Hi. hexebella. Are you sure that you did not wake up as being me today? I am so glad that you have posted this discussion here on myLot. What you have said is so very true. I have written many things on Facebook, and I hardly had any likes or comments. But when I come to myLot, I can post a question or someone may like what I wrote, I will have some feedback. I also get more friend requests here on myLot than I do on Facebook. MyLot is a very attractive site that attracts the people that no one else considers important. MyLot is more effective than Facebook is. People here look at you differently. They don't even have to see your face and they still like you! I have not put my photo on myLot in three whole years I still gained friends, and I have been a member of Facebook for almost eight months and when I did not have a photo of me up, no one did not bother to respond or acknowledge me at all. Nor did people even bother to comment or like something that I posted, if I ever did. At least your mom recognized you and that is what matters the most! I agree, when no other site appreciates you, you best believe that when you enter the myLot community you will be appreciated, no doubt!

Hi cream97! I have been experimenting the reactions of my FB connections for posting different kinds of things on my profile. If I post non-sense or childish shoutouts I get reactions but if something sensible, a little achievement I did, they don't react. I don't know if they are dumb or what? That's the reason I always hang around in MyLot. My Lot is the first place I turn to whenever i am happy, upset, confused, etc....because I know I would get responses, comments, enlightenment, appreciation, etc. from other Mylotters. Thanks for responding and happy mylotting!

I think it really depends upon who is online at the time that you post your status update. sometimes I will post something on there and it may not get any responses at all. other times, there will be 20 comments on something. There are a few--like my husband, mom amd the kids who get my status updates via SMS on the cell phones. They are the ones who usually answer/respond almost immediately to something I've posted on

Hi carpenter5! Thanks for your response....that could be another possibility....but I noticed that if I post some nonsense blah blah they are very quick to react......i will experiment more..... Cheersand happy mylotting!

Hi Yeah i agree with you.Even my friends have behaved in a cold way when I have tried to promote some of my interests. And I also find that my FB friends are hardly active and most of them take long break without proper intimation. But one good thing is atleast you can stay in touch with your old friends, even if there isn't feeling of warmth .

Hi amirev777! Thanks for dropping by..... I really don't understand their behavior if they are envious or they just simply don't care at all. You're right, when I also promote something, an interest, an activity, a website, it was just ignored. Correct that the only thing I benefit from that site is to stay in touch with them. Cheers and happy my lotting!

I would say your family and freinds care about you but just dont show you on facebook as they are probably busy or jsut dont feel like commenting. I have felt the same way as you though and i can ask questions on here that i wouldnt even ask on facebook to being with. I have soem things i wouldnt ask family members or even want them to know but people i dont know like here in mylot i would ask becasue they dont personally know me at all. I believe in Mylot i could do more and ask more things then i could do on facebook. I have been trying to stay away from facebook and be on mylot more and more everyday.

Hi lologirl2021! Thanks for your engouraging reply. I just noticed that whenever I share something good in FB, my friends just ignore it....if I share a good product that I use, they think I am making money out of them and stay away from it....I don't know what mentality they have...but whenever I post something nonsense, they are reacting and they enjoy it, whew! Me too, I seldom login in FB lately since I found myLot. I enjoy the environment here and I am learning a lot from postings of other members. You are right, I have shared more in Mylot than in FB, things that I can not share in FB coz when the moment they come to know, they will talk about it and would create an issue as they know the people involved. Thanks to myLot and all the members for creating and maintaining a very good community of thinkers. Cheers!

I am like you, I wanted my friends to appreciate social sites which gives you real satisfaction but they are just not interested. For several times, I posted my income from this sites but nobody is asking how did I do it. They have a common notion that writing is hard, and they don't want to share their views on topics nor to start a conversation online. I do hope by keep them posted what we achieve online will spark their interest. Let us all do our best and enjoy what we earned from mylot...

Hi r3jcorp! It is sad that we can not get the support and appreciation of our own friends in our activities. We are not going to force them to join us if they don't want to but at least to appreciate and encourage, but nothing..... you're right, let's make the most out of what we enjoy here in myLot and with the people here that gives continous support and encouragement. Thanks for your response and happy myLotting!

Hi JohnMach! Thanks for commenting.....Indeed you are correct, this website has a very good and friendly atmosphere, as if the people here have known each other for long. Discussions and opinions are free flowing without inhibitions and everybody are willing to share their knowledge on certain topics. We are really lucky to find this wonderful place in the web. Cheers!

I have seen this in my life as well! How strange that those we are friends with and not personally wont respond, but people we dont know will...but I can also say that I can be guilty of this as well. Sometimes I wont comment or what not on FB not because I dont care, but because I do know them and tend to call and congradulate them or I know I will see them soon so I can talk to them face to face.

Hi Niecie! That's a good gesture still as you take the effort to call them or congratulate them personally. You know, it means a lot to the person to be recognized by people who are close to them. I really felt sad about this experience, nobody can call me or there will be no chance of meeting one of them personally as I am living in other country and most of my friends are living in my home country and others are also living abroad and FB is our only connection. Thanks for commenting. Cheers!

Well, FB has so many things posted. It is possible that your friends missed your announcement. With the new profile, your status does not get pinned to the top anymore. And with different status posted by your friends, along with Games notifications, photo comments, etc. it is quite possible that your announcement was missed. That is why myLot is good. Once you post a discussion, an email is sent to all your myLot friends and well, it is easy for your friends to find as well. Don't feel too bad about it.
