How to update a laptop that is not connected with internet ?

One of my friend has laptop from last 2 years and it is not connected with net so not updated. Recently I updated my windows with service pack 3. Can I use the my updates in his pc as he has service pack 2 installed ? How to locate the update from my pc ?

well you can download updates offline too from microsoft official site.. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=5B33B5A8-5E76-401F-BE08-1E1555D4F3D4&displaylang=en and yeah you can also download updates from microsoft directly too. I mean download from the place where you have net and then install it in your friend's system. but copy your system files and paste into that system won't update.. you need to run executable files to update system..

You have a good idea but the file size is worth 320MB and will take too long to be downloaded. I would rather connect that laptop with m y router and update it.

yeah.. it's better option to update it online.. but it would be of same size..

No, I don't think that this is possible as microsoft updates are licensed to the individual system that is receiving the updates via the Internet. Actually, I am thinking of something though. You can connect your friend's laptop to your router so that he then has Internet access and then you can get updates for his system that way, this will work. This is the only option available to you though. Good luck. Andrew
