I have been there and I was really irritated when no one answered my discussions but these may not be the only reason because I am replying to your discussion after 2 weeks and to tell the truth I have not been checking the discussions at all as I was busy watching the World Cup and was not checking the mylot site.

Yes, I could understand the situation which is a real fact.And your task of answering my discussion is really appreciable because after refreshing you attempted your thoughts on my log aiming my discussion.
I do understand that every one have their own world of thoughts where hey normally hunt and respond. And some are selective too.

Some of mine seem to get overlooked because they aren't interesting enough.
Honestly, I really think all discussions should have at least one response, how else can the discussion starter mark a best response and resolve the discussion?
I have several that are buried in my list that have no replies, so I can't resolve them as much as I'd like to.
One was a question about a video game, I thought it would get a few responses, but nothing at all. I needed opinions on it, and got nothing.
I try to respond to discussions, even if they're boring, but sometimes there are topics that I just have to pass by, no questions asked.

No problem nothing to worry at all. Our duty is to post a discussion and wait - and there is no compulsion that it should be responded. Once I posted a very interesting discussion according to my thinking - but the wonder is no responses.I did not worry at all.
Great that you are attempting to respond even boring discussion. Yes this really gives a courage to the person who has started the discussion.

If this happens to my discussion... I only think of two reasons, first being that i am not able to make my topic more interesting so mylotters would take time and be part of the discussion... And second, mylot might be too busy and thus my topic was not even seen by mylotters... Sort of other topics are always on top of the list... Hehw

Many reasons can be created for not answering as you say because every individual have a different taste and accordingly they scroll down the discussions and respond.But being positive in such situations is of utmost importance.

Probably just not interested. Personally, I'll only respond to discussions if A) I think I'll get a response back, B) someone wants to debate my opinion, or perhaps even C) I just feel like having a good rant.
But my favorite discussion of all time on myLot is a poster whose discussion was all about crying that "no one ever responds to me when I leave a reply." Then, as I and many others left replies, this myLotter didn't reply to anyone! 
So it's hard to say why people reply and why they don't. If I had a better read on people in general, I'd probably be in a working relationship instead of bumping my way around the house like I'm functionally retarded.

OK - good thoughts.
The reason for nor replying on the various discussions cannot be predicted because of the persons availability which depends upon various factors.
It is always good to be balanced in such situations.

I'm happy with the results of the discussions I am starting. So far, I think all my discussions have responses. I am glad that mylotters help each other out. I also respond to discussions started by others, especially if it interests me. Sometimes, when I see a post without any responses, I respond first so as others will follow. Mylotting is a good way to start friendship. I am being befriended by mylotters whom I respond to. :)

May be this should be the reason - as every one hunts for a discussion where he has the real capacity to boldly attempt to respond.
