What a night we have had!

It has been a very long night. Storms rolling through with high winds and lots of rain. We have had tornado watches, warning, severe storm warnings, flash flood warnings, and still under the flood warnings. We had wind gusts up to 60 mile an hour. It rained so hard you could not see across the street. I had rain blowing in around my back door. It does not usually have any air coming in around it. It was really strange. We have lots of roads under water. Some of the schools are on delay, some are closed. Friday, we had blizzard weather and Sunday night, very nasty storms. They are finally done, except more rain and rising water in the streams and rivers. I bet alot will have water in their homes. I am ready to take a nap already. How is your weather?

We also had some bad storms come through here lately. Just last week we had thunderstorms roll through here, I didn't go to bed almost til 1. I was so worried with all the rain, we would flood again. I later learned that a Amish family lost four of their children in a flash flood in Kentucky. The storms that came through today, caused my back yard to flood, but that's normal. It produced a tornado that killed a elderly man just thirty five miles south east of my home. It's been crazy weather and I fear it's only going to get worse.

I agree, it is really weird and violent. Last Friday, we had 7 inches of snow in about 3 hours time.

Oh I know, a friend of mine on facebook had beautiful 60 degree weather one day and then snow the next day. I'm praying we will have a nice spring and summer, because I can't take what we got last year. With flooding in May, and over 100 degree temps during the summer. I hope your spring and summer is better as well.

I also live in Ohio, the Dayton area and we had it all too, I actually hate spring, I could live with snow all year long, mainly because of this thing with the weather, do u notice that every time we have rain, it is severe weather, where is the just rain that we used to have. I can remember when I was a kid and it rained we was out riding our bikes through the puddles, not sitting by a tv or a weather radio listening to see if all of a sudden we should take cover. We are not fortune enough to have a basement, and I was in Xenis, for the 174 tornado, right down town in the middle of it, was a day that I will never forget and when the warnings go up, I stil panic. I am here because I lost my home in Katrina in Louisiana and had no place else to go since my kids all live here. Yes I saw on the news a lot of flooding in the area, but be thankful that it is only in your basements as we had 28 feet of water in our house for Katrina, hoping all that got water damage had flood insurance.

I can see why you would be very nervous. I am glad that most of the water here is finally going down. I cannot imagine having that much water in your house. I have said many times, it isn't like when we were young. A thunder storm, was just that. Very seldom, did you have to sit by the radio or tv to see what was going to happen. It did not dump inches of rain all at once, like it does now. I am glad that you survived both of those tragic events, and definitely can see why you would rather see snow. Good luck to you.

Wow, sounds like you had a terrible storm hit your area. We were supposed to have bad thunderstorms and high winds and didn't get anything more than a light drizzle. I thought maybe the storm was delayed and we would get it today, but it looks like all we are going to have today is sparse sprinkles in some areas of the state, nothing to amount to anything at all. I was looking forward to a little rain so i wouldn't have to water the plants outside. Oh well, I know what I will be doing this evening after work! It looks like we went right from winter to summer here. already temps in the 80's. Crazy!

Be glad that you didn't. If they would have, you probably would not have had any plants left outside.

Wish we would get some of that rain, we need it! It has been very windy and very dry, which puts me on alert, being a wildland firefighter. We have 9 large fire incidents in Texas now, and I'm sure there will be more. We were under a red flag warning (extreme fire weather) for 3 days. And looks like it will repeat itself this coming weekend. If we don't get some rain soon, it's gonna be a very busy, very long, spring and summer for us.

Brrr! It is cooler than usual at night here, with snow on the mountains all around and lower than I have seen the snow come, but sunny by day. I really cannot complain about our Palm Springs area weather.

It must be moving south east because that's what we have now! Mother nature never ceases to amaze me. It's foggy and the rain is just coming down in sheets. It's just started thundering which is the scary part for me because of being in my house as a child when the lightening struck our house. The dry creek bed in front of our house is flooded with rain water. PG, my siamese kitten is going nuts over all the action that's going on. She's never seen a rain storm before and she's running all over the place wondering what's going on. I'm doing all I can to soothe her but she wants nothing of it. Still, I keep on trying. First time for anything is pretty scary but I know she'll adjust. She has to! lol We can't control mother nature..... can we?

I am sure that you are probably getting some of them, it was a big line of storms. I can see why you would be nervous. I get nervous also, but really don't know why. Sometimes it seems as if someone besides god is controlling Mother Nature.

Hi. Thoroughrob. The weather here feels cool. The wind has been blowing briskly for this past week now. It is in the late 60s here. I know that it is going to get much colder this week. This is Flu season now. I hope that this weather ceases where you are located. It seems terrible to have to see all of this! We had rain back here in February. We had a couple of days that was wet and rainy. I hope that it gets better where you are at. Stay safe! Take care!

We had some horrible weather yesterday, too. Not as much flooding but definitely had the high winds and severe rain. We were under a severe storm warning and tornado watch, never got to a tornado warning, thank goodness! We had some trees come down in the woods next to our house and everything on the deck was, uhh, rearranged by the wind. Luckily, we had no damage to our house or vehicles. I've heard about some parts of this immense storm system that did have tornados and severe flooding. I feel so bad for them! That makes me realize just how lucky we are to only have had some tree damage. I hope you haven't had anything worse and things are better now. What worries me is that, even though the last day of February was horrible, the first day of March was extremely nice. March came in like a lamb. Does that mean it will go out like a lion? I sure hope not!!!

We had a little bit of sleet, but even that, thankfully was short lived!
