Hello friends, Many of us have our role model in life and that holds good for cooking too... my mother and sisters are good cooks, they cook wonderful south Indian food.. these guys are my first inspiration... Master chef show not only taught me how to cook but also taught how to present your food and then I recently saw a movie by name Ratatouille, and I loved the concept of the movie "anyone can cook" and the hero of the movie is a little mouse which makes wonderful dishes expressing his passion towards cooking.. I wouldn't say I am a great cook but these things makes you to try things which gets your real cooking talent. So most of us has one or other inspiration to cook great food, who or what inspired you? Share your thoughts please...

I can't say that I'm a good cook. Most of the time, I like what I come up with, and sometimes even the people at home like it. (I say sometimes because there's always that "it's so salty" or "could use a bit of...") Anywy, I learned how to cook when I was younger because I was always at the kitchen helping around. Besides, when your mom is a terrible cook, the kids learn to do the cooking themselves! (Both my brothers can cook, too. Love you, mom! ) Perhaps an inspiration is my uncle and his wife who could make the best lasagna in town! They could magically whip up anything into something gastronomically delightful! All this talk is making me hungry.

Hmm.. it's hard to say. I just always like good food, so I was curious how to make it my own, I guess.. That is pretty much my inspiration: the fact that I like to eat. That movie was cute huh? I liked it too.

I think no particular person inspired me to cook... I just got hungry! lol!I am pretty happy with my cooking over all though. I look for new recipes that are easy and don't take forever to prepare. (I'm not very patient!) And I am curious so that's why I keep looking and testing recipes!

Hi, I would say my mother and my sister are a good cook and they can cook very well, compared to me, I am still a beginner and have lots more to learn from them. Being a full-time housewife, I have the responsibility to do the cooking for my family everyday and sometimes when I am craving for some food, I will search online for the recipes, get ready the ingredients needed and start my cooking project in the kitchen. Of course, I always wish the outcome will taste delicious. What I can say...nobody is born to be a good cook, but as long as you have the determination to learn and do it,sure you can achieve the target.

Hi Shia, Very true and I think both of us same teacher (mother and sisters).. I think that's the best way to learn cooking.. sometimes people will be around to help us but at times we have to do our own stuffs and it helps to learn from our mistakes.. I learnt the same way and still will continue doing the same.. Good luck,..happy cooking

I grew up in romote areas and there was very little opportunity to dine out, as a result I learnt to cook at an early age from my family entertaining at home. I think this is where my interst in cooking really started. From there I went into catering and finally opened my own resturant. I never had the opportunity to learn to cook from a cooking school or Master Chef. In those days (mmmm that sounds like I am ancient LOL) there was no My Kitchen Rules or Master Chef on TV to learn from. I think that some people have a natural interest in food and this will lead them to get involved in cooking. I too have seen that movie. It really is a delightful show.

You might say I had negative inspiration. I was bored with how my family cooked when I was growing up. I was a pretty plain cook during my first marriage. I was widowed. In my second marriage both my husband and I cook and we like to explore new flavors in foods.

Hello! My love and passion for good food inspired me to cook and endure the hardships in kitchen at firsts, but as they say, when you love what you are doing, then, anything will be smooth and easier as days goes by. Ive watched Ratatouille as well and me too had been inspired by this tiny little rat to be good in kitchen. My mother, sister and brother are all good cook. My brother before was a sous chef in one of the luxury liner abroad and he also taught me how to prepare some unique dishes with good presentation too. I must say that its an advantage for anyone to learn how to cook, because its not only cheaper to dine inside our home but we could also choose nutritious food to prepare for our love ones. Have a nice day ahead!

I think my mother inspired me.She taught me who to cook in case I can cook myself if she doesn't.Sometimes my parents works in the morning so it is my responsibility to do some house work for my family. What's more,A man who can make good dishes is more attractive to the girls.
