What is the difference between anti spyware and anti virus

hi mylot freinds, I am using Free AVG antivirus for my system since two months, when ever I have downloading the antivirus software, the trial version is coming, the main version for home purpose is not coming, and that two months trial version was over ,and recently I have installed free version of Super anti Spyware in my system and scanning the system and removing the spy ware from the system, what is the difference in Anti virus and Anti spyware, we have use both or any one is enough means Anti virus or Anti spy ware, how to free version of any good anti virus for one year,with out paying any amount, what about you which one you are using for your system

antivirus make you fight against viruses and spywares where antispyware is specially designed for fighting with spywares only.. it doesn't detect other kind of viruses.. spy is you can say one type of virus. for better security I suggest to keep good antivirus and antispy both.. Free antivirus.. I found AVG as better antivirus in free one.. but I suggest to buy symantec, mcafee, quick heal or nod32.. either of these.. now a days price is around 10$ which is affordable when you care about security.

hi lovedude, thanks for the response and information about antivirus and anti spyware,so now i have to install anti virus also,my lot friends suggested the free down load of antivirus,i will try for them initially,if it is ok,then i will try for buying antivirus software ,which you have suggested have a nice day

One fights and protects against viruses which can harm your computer. The other one protects against sites putting spyware on your computer to steal your information and give it to other parties. If they can steal your bank information you can be in a huge mess!

hi macdingolinger, thanks for the response and information about spy ware and anti virus,so i have to intall anti virus once again,i will try on sunday,for the time being i am having snti spy ware in my computer,i have to install the antivirus free version from the web,so will down load and install the same in my system,have a nice day
